You see, from my experience, an accident is something that can not be avoided. That's why it happens. I honestly don't know anyone who could avoid an accident, but chose not to.
That's kind of the nature of an accident. Formula racers have accidents. Nascar racers have accidents. MotoGp racers have accidents. That 16 year old, in their parent's mini van, on the cell phone, who hardly knows how to drive? Yep, they have accidents.
The problem with the last driver is that their accident might involve you.
Do you honestly think you're so much better than everyone else, that an accident can not possibly happen to you, just because you're so awesome?
As I said, it's a discussion. Please tell me what makes you so much better than everyone else. I'd like to know.

Have seen this guy in person. R1150GS with front fender and windshield removed, 17" front wheel and tire to replace the orignal 19" and generally restyled to be something that looks kinda like a supermoto, except with the 1150cc horizontal engine that pretty much makes it impossible to ride it like a supermoto, not that the guy doesn't try. He's a good rider, but he's nuts. I asked him how he shifts with flip-flops and he said something like "you get used to just using your toe."
I went down once at less than 40 mph. I was fine, but after seeing what it did to my gear and the plastic + metal on my bike, I won't ever ride unprotected.
BTW, if anyone's thinking about kevlar jeans, read this

Soo guys, i went through this thread and saw quite a few photos of idiots. But some of these "idiots" were wearing just about the same amount of gear I am. Mostly in the jean factor.
Do jeans really just disintigrate like that? I wear, Helmet, Jacket, gloves, boots, and jeans.
