Welcome in AZ
Congrats on the bike, you will LOVE it!:p I am up in Prescott, and always enjoy a dash to Phoenix on business (the bike makes it pleasure) If you are interested is learning a few terrific rides just out past Wickenburg way, IM me. I would love to ride with another FZ6R.
Hey, I just did a 180 mile turnaround from Prescott to Phoenix and back and I NEED GRIPS:eek: !! I like the ones with the bump for the throttle, but the crampbuster looks pretty good too. Before I spend the money....give me your best advice!! My first goal is to deaden the vibration, second...
I followed the directions herein, replaced the filter with one that was slightly longer (as suggested elsewhere in this forum) and added the right oil. No leaks, no drips, smoother shifting. Now I get the oil light every once in a while....when the bike is cold...for about 3 minutes...then it...
Sure came close...
I left Las Vegas without paying attention....thinking Searchlight was much closer than the glitter in my rear view mirror! I ran the Raven on the F-trip for much, much further than I ever thought I could. Laying on the tank, top gear, tucked in and conserving energy with a...
Extra seat...
Oh, you are killing me. You see, I have a spare back seat. I found one on Ebay, after hubby backed into bike with truck and back seat scraped down the deck support! (See post elsewhere on here.) Anyway, I am sooooo tempted to make you a screaming deal, but your secret plan...
Rain and snow in AZ
Yep, the Raven is parked in a protected location. But as you can see from this photo, the little, classic German did not do so well. This gushing stream ended up carving a crevice under the Karmann Ghia which required ramps, a winch and a flat-bed tow truck! Crazy Mother...
Speakers inside the helmet-
In the quest for a perfect ride with nice weather, good music and a great bike I have satisfied two out of three.
The FZ6R is a great bike (but you already knew that, right?)
And to get some rockin' tunes in my ears I bought these---Motorbike Helmet...
Stock or double...
My advice is- go with the double bubble. You will like the look, and the difference.
Now for a question to you.....how did you get the bike to South Africa?
Double-bubble effects...
At 5'8" I noticed the new windscreen (thanks Santa) does push more of the air up and over my head. However, I also noticed that a portion of air is now hitting my upper arms. This was a strange new sensation, forcing me to close the "pit-zips" for the ride. But it...
Bargain gear....
I was able to pick up some amazing bargains on Craigslist. As folks sell their bikes, they also sell their gear. :surrender: Be picky and you can find jackets, gloves, boots, pants. I am now sporting an amazing full leather (cafe racer style) jacket, a mesh Joe Rocket jacket...
But wait....
what about the proper RPM's and vibration rate for the front seat. Remember that some of the FZ6R folks on this forum are the female operators!! This discussion seems to focus on the back seat features!;)
Why dies?
I had this happen once. I figured out that during the turn my foot was shifting on the peg. The heel of my boot was catching the kick stand and lowering it just enough to hit the point of "safety kill". The bike died, coasted, foot moved, restarted, kept going. Check it out and...
