FZ6R - How to install HID Headlights

I don't know. I'm more pissed about that i spent the time to take my bike apart again and try to make it work. The fact that it wasn't in there obviously sucks...alot, but I don't generally ride when after 8pm (not for another month or 2) so i'm in no rush to have it done. I was super amped that I was going to get to install it and then no dice.

I've worked as a customerservice supervisor for the last 3 years. The last thing I want to do is yell at someone on the phone who probably had nothing to do with packing the order.

Yeah taking the plastics off does suck. They've probably been extremely overwhelmed with this sale. Maybe you could work a free bulb or something out of them for the mistake and long wait to get another.

I may just have to do that. That's why i was double checking on the wattage, cause I second guessed myself, so i figured ifi was wrong, this would be the perfect time to get the correct bulb, but seeing as the 35w is correct i'll just have to wait and see.

I actually have an extra control box. When I wanted to replace my bulb it was cheaper to buy the whole kit so I I have it just sitting in the garage. If it's going to be a long wait, you're welcome to my backup if you want and just replace it when you get yours. I'm going to a bike night tomorrow night at Dino's on Miramar Rd. I can bring it if you want to meet there.

so i was cool about this whole thing until I received the exact same thing they sent me the first time. i'm missing the damn controller!!!!

My GF and I both bought the kit and last Friday I installed the HID kit on my bike and held off on installing hers so I could compare the two. I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed with the outcome. I would say that that it didn’t seem like that there was much difference in the two as far as how much light was put out. The HID put out more of a horizontal beam leaving a lot of darkness around it. And the stock light seemed to be more of a fog type light, light being more spread out over the area. I really noticed it when turning. The beam with the HID would go like this / when I turned left, leaving a big dark area on my right side.

I'm interested in this mod, to all that have installed these, i assume that you guys installed the ddm hi/lo kit. How is the high beam on this kit? I have heard that flipping this from lo to hi beam can cause the light bulb to go out?

Yep, used the Hi/Low kit with the H4 bulb @ 6000K.

I haven't ridden at night, so I've never used the hi beam. However, after I installed it, I flipped the Hi/Low switch quite a bit (and quickly too) just to see the difference. Seems to work fine.

Looks and works fine but I'm not sure if it's just me not knowing what the high beam does. Seems like it disables the low beam and the light is produced at a higher angle and further.

How did you guys install this. I just got mine with the hi/low feature. It was the single headlight that I ordered but the harness they gave me has another plug for another ballast. Did you guys get the same thing? It also has attachments for the negative and positive for the battery and the three prong part for the stock harness.

Yup. I just wanna know if you guys got the same wiring harness I got. I have a feeling that they may have given me a different one. It doesn't show any pictures of that in the tutorial.
