Agreed I need a friend for Ghost Recon so I think that might be a good choice.

Honestly at this point we aren't sure what we can do, because we don't know if it is totaled and right now we are paying back a 401K loan, and it takes a large amount of our extra money a month, so paying for a motorcycle right now may be difficult. I guess we will see what we are able to do once we have the numbers....which I would assume will be today or tomorrow.

Don't get a bike for a bit then , Take care of the family first. I know you love to ride but do what you can maybe use the money they give to pay back that loan

or you can just take a small chunk of the ins money and buy an older one you can tinker with and still go out and ride. May not be the most pretty but it puts you on two wheels.

My workmate has about 8 or more bikes. Ducati, Yamaha, BMW etc.
He rides about 60K miles a year on a bike and has a couple of touring bikes. He said he always wanted one of these and he just bought a used one 3 months ago. It is his favorite bike now. Windshiels moves up or down, plenty of luggage and power. The thing is almost an Aspencade....

Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth: If you had to take a loan out of retirement money, then you can't afford luxuries. Pay back the loan.

While I see where you are coming from, it wasn't a desperate "we have to do this to survive" situation. We made the choice because the interest rate was FAR better than what we were paying, and that meant we are paying it off faster. It wouldn't always be the best choice, but it made the most sense in that particular instance.
