Well, since the bike may be totaled, we were thinking of what we would do as far as the next bike. It would make more sense for me to get a new one, so that we would have something that would be ready for touring. We have options and these are what we have it narrowed down to. We are leaning towards either one of the Harley's.

When I saw one in person it seemed like alot more bike than I was expecting.One of the biggest things I admired about it was how comfortable and useful it looks.Its not a cruiser, but it might be up both of your alley.It already has a rear rack to put a top case on.The ergos have to be spacious being made to stand or sit and ride.Its kinda like a more practical fz1 but with a twin

Checked that one out this past weekend just for fun after you had recommended it before....I didn't really like it. Too tall for my tastes....but I could still flatfoot it.

Yeah, I agree with sticking to Japanese, Tenere or FJR.

I would love to have a Tenere, in the adventure shootouts it scored highest for comfort, it is a unique looking bike and looks great on the road (not as attractive sitting still for some reason). The FJR is supposedly very powerful, but the Tenere is no slouch either both should have plenty of power for your needs. Please don't become a Harley guy, way too many of those already.

The first time you come to a railroad crossing you might love the added height in the saddle when you raise off the seat, and the bars are stil well in reach.
Im glad you saw one, its definitely a different type of bike lol.
It would be a pretty expensive bike as well, its like $3000 to get all of the hardcases from what the reviews I have watched says.
The main reason I like that thing is because I dont drink, id rather go on a picnic than out to watch a game and get wings lol.That thing would make gravel roads a different experience.

FJR, it is a bigger version of the 6r. I had one and loved it. I would also check the concourse 1400, but know that thing is much bigger, and holy hell is it quick for the size she is!!! lmao!




Victory crossroads or cross country are much nicer than you think. I know there is a cross roads at a dealer here by me that has a left over 11 no miles for 12.5 which is a steal. just another option.

Was going to say, if he's willing to get away from a cruiser, checking out the Concours makes sense too. 6-speed, ABS, looks much more comfortable for a passenger and in the same price range as the FJR. It is a bigger bike though. Would not want to have it as my only bike, but seems a better complement to the 6R than an FJR.

If you still had the 6R I'd say the Harley, but since you don't have a Yamaha you need the FJR!

the sprint is an incedible bike, no joke. One of the best sport touring mid range bikes out there. its a nice in-between from the fz6r and an FJR with the comfort of the cruisers as well.

but.. I'd also rock one of these:
Royal star deluxe... if I remember right, the windshield comes off as does the rear seat back, so it can have a cleaner look when riding alone, or be more comfy when two up riding

I must admit, I have been considering moving toward a bag cruiser myself. Leg muscles just don't like the 5 hour rides at my advanced age anymore!!
Royal Star has a rear 150 tire, not sure if an issue or not and if not it is high on my list. Looking at the Road King and new HD Switchback, but Road King seems to be the better handling cruiser. Yamaha Stratoliner seems just too heavy, but that may just be to me.

Wife was not impressed that I was looking at other bikes...especially HD's....but they are so well balanced. I told her it would require me to take it slower in the mountains, but again, she didn't seem to care!!
