Took my son on a 160 mile round trip to Charlotte, to spend money I don't have, for some gear. Got him a jacket and some gloves. I got some (long overdue) riding boots, boot liners and long john bottoms. (Buying my son some gear, right?) All told it was about six hours, with the temp in the 60's, and the kid held up like a champ. He couldn't do an hour on my '82 CB900 and not much better on the '00 Zuki 650SV.
I treated him to a slow run through on a long, decreasing radius sweeper on a backroad on the way back and he leaned with me like a pro. All told it was a pretty darn good day! The pic was taken by mother (who shadowed her grandchild in her jeep, in case he got too cold) at a coffee/fuel stop in Charlotte on the way back.
To those interested in budget gear, Cyclegear has a really good sale going through the 3rd of April.
