We used to do a lot of reloading. Mostly shotgun shells though. We did A LOT of trap shooting and hunting when I was a kid. We had a reloading setup with both a shotgun shell reloader and a Rockcrusher setup for .357's mainly with all the equipment within arms reach. I would sit in the garage with the TV on watching/listening to a movie, race, etc... while loading up 200-300 shells for the weekend for the two of us. Saved us a TON of money.

Shooting the 50cal
Just a video of me and others shooting a co-workers Barrett M82A1. The craziest experience I have ever had shooting a gun. Its just incredible. He paid about $9000 for it and it costs roughly $4.50 a round. I only shot 5. I paid him for the rounds too.

I typically go through about 200 rounds of .45 ACP on a range visit, in addition to about 20 rounds of .300 WBY MAG. I'll go through 50-100 rounds of 12 gauge if I do trap. It's a rather expensive if I do it on a regular basis, so it tends to work out for me
It is tedious, but I use a reloading press that rotates the rounds through each station, so once things are properly set, it can crank out rounds consistently at a faster rate than the single station presses. Several of the stations have alarms that go off if something's off. I typically check the first 10 at each stage to make sure it's all staying consistent, then check every so often.
It's not for everyone. I just offered it as a suggestion. Also, I already have the 1911 of my choice.

I bought my wife a Walther PK380 for her birthday. Walther makes nice guns. Well, in this case Smith & Wesson makes nice guns...
So I got the wood furniture for Dad's AK-47 project in today. The stocks themselves are gorgeous. Nicely sanded, unfinished walnut. i grabbed some red stain, and tung oil. Will test the stain to see if it is what I want.
However, first i need to do some surgery. Even tho the maker does his best to tailor them for the specific model firearm (chenese, or hungarian, or romanian, etc), the fact is that no two AK-47s are the same.
You buy 2 AR-15s from two entirely manufacturers, and any AR-15 part out there will fit it. The AK...good luck with that.
So, out of all 4 pieces exactly one of them fits correctly, and is insanely snug at that. I need to do some minor surgery here and there to fit the rest. Sanding a half millimeter here, planing a little there.
But in the end it will be worth it. Just the fun of owning AKs.

Was a shit ton of fun to do, it was my first ever attempt at finishing a rifle stock. Now I can't wait to do my Russian AK. Although for that I will just go with a natural Walnut with Tung Oil, no stain.
But dad's is a deep red, almost a burgundy, in person. I set out for it to be more red, like a darker Russian Red set, but I'm happy with how this came out.

I've been talking about this on the 6 forum but I figured I'd post here and see what y'all have to say, to make a long story short I've been looking for a good 9 for range days and what not, narrowed it down between the xdm, baby eagle II, and the cz75 sp-01, well I shot all 3 decided on the sp-01, went to buy I yesterday and they said that it had been delayed.... Wtf!!!! Delayed? Happen to anyone else?
