The way the HID is wired is this - I got the dual hi/lo 6000 from DDM tuning - so factory wiring hooks up for controlling and then there are the wires from the single ballast that had the round eyelet connectors - I assumed those go to the battery - so I ran that set of wires back to the battery and hooked them up.
I have the 6000k HID Hi/Low conversion and the integrated tail light (I didn't wire the blinkers). I ran my HID to the battery, and I don't have any problem with my tail light.
then maybe it's just the tail light - maybe i just got a bad one or something - not sure - i did wire in the turn signals - but don't think that has anyting to do with it
Pardon my ignorance but what is the difference? The FZ6N/S is a completely different bike, related but different. The FZ6R (XJ6F here) is the same bike as the XJ6N/S but with a full faring isn't it? Well, it is here in Australia
So my integrated tail light is doing the same as someone else's on here - only the middle row of red lights light up - the side ones come on briefly - and flash a little with the RPMs of the engine - and then slowly dim until completely out - what does that sound like to anyone?????
I would go over your ground wire again. Bad grounding is known to cause unusual faults like this. How is it grounded? To the chassis or back to the negative terminal on the battery?
mine was plug and play. seller asked which plug i needed and flat is what i needed/got. just make a note to the seller indicating that and you will be good to go.

I installed the integrated smoke tail light- its beautiful. great quality, easy install, bright new age looking leds instead of a dumb singl bulb. it did however cause me blinkers to flash quickly- they have regulators for that at Motorcycle Superstore - Motorcycle Accessories and Motorcycle Gear. lastly as a rear blinker dont expect people to easily realize that you are turning hah. whos watching for you anyways!
I hooked up my tail light today. I am good with wiring, so the difference in plugs wasn't a problem. I didn't like the integrated blinkers, so I hooked up new smoke turn signals. Anywho, here's a few pics...
OK Got the new tail light in - it works great - UNTIL I hook up the turn signal wires for the integrated turn signals - there are only 2 wires coming out of the taillight assembly for the turn signals (one lead for the left and one for the right - so what to do with the 2 ground wires?? did anyone wire up the turn signals on the integrated light??? what did you do with the bike's ground wires from the factory turn signals???

i did, you only need the positives. the ground is ran through the tail plug. if you cut the plug off, i guess you just need to cap the stock grounds off. if you haven't cut the plugs off yet, try doing what i did in post 51, it works great. saves you from taking off the factory connector.

I installed LEDs flush mounts on the front - turns out the integrated LED turn signals in back + flush mount led turn signals up front = malfunction - i figured as big as that taillight was it would have included the necessary electronics to fix that issue (basically a resistor) I got them working now - what a pain in the butt - I didn't see anything anywhere in the directions stating you would need external resistors
