Race Tech Gold Valve cartridge emulators. Or the center stand, I can't make up my mind which is the best improvement. Both should be on everyone's list.
Since riding on my favorite roads depends a lot on traffic (or the lack of it) I don't let others know where the best roads IMO are. Once they become popular with a lot of other riders, I have to find new roads in order to avoid the crowds. I'm selfish.:) Just look at that mess on Palomar to...
Why would you do that? For more light riding at night, or for the look your trying for? If you just need more light, then you can add some, if it is for the cool look, then have fun, this could get messy lol. Maybe fitting a different fairing that is more to your liking might work.
If you like to do your own maintenance, your in luck. There is plenty of it on a Ducati, and you will get to know your machine intimately. They do look cool, and they perform real good, when they are running right. If your looking to get on it and ride, when ever you want, you might look for...
Polishing them isn't a problem. Keeping them shiny is. Steel parts won't stay looking good for long. I did polish just about every aluminum surface on an 78 Suzuki GS750 I owned. It looked awesome, but did require some elbow grease (and Never Dull) now and then to keep it looking nice. You can...
I have used SS lines on other bikes in the past, they worked very well and gave the brakes a firmer feel. They came standard on my BMW, never had a problem with them myself. I'll be looking for some for the 6R one of these days in the not to distant future. The rear brakes are in need of some...
The description Yamaha provides suggests any of the major fluids would be ok. I believe all of them will fill those requirements. The Newer, longer lasting coolants are supposed to be interchangeable with the old green stuff. If you change your coolant every other year, you shouldn't have a...
I bought the cheap cover on ebay for the 6R. While it does fit the bike, it really isn't much protection other then keeping dust off the bike (which is fine, it is garaged). Next time I would buy it a little larger. It fits tight, and I prefer the Dowco cover on my BMW, it is larger and easier...
I didn't make any changes to the rear suspension other then dialing in the preload on the stock shock. The Gold valves make a big difference by themselves.
Just one thing to add to this, you do see the world, but it is mostly water.... lmao. What Todd said about it changing lives is true, I would not have had the life I had, if not for the time I spent in the Navy. It was a game changer. I wouldn't change a thing. They gave me the tools to make...
I joined the Navy in 1971. Was looking to get some training that I could turn into a career. I got what I wanted, and spent 31 years working at a well paying job with great benefits. Was it worth it? Hell ya! Was it the longest 4 years of my life, no doubt.... If your looking for good training...
They probably sold you the one I returned last year. I sent a note telling them it wouldn't fit the US model FZ6R. So your out the $7 to return it, as was I.
Since this topic came up. I thought I would do my clutch cable, the throttle cable is very slick still, the bike only has 3500 miles on it. I have one of those clamp on devices that allow injection of a lube in an aerosol can, so I thought I would be using it. After a closer look at the cable, I...
