    Security System?

I have a Meta Cat 1 alarm on mine and a Xena XX14 disc alarm. My bike is parked on the street overnight and my last one was stolen. The Meta alarm is small enough to fit under the seat with room to carry the xena lock in a small camera bag strapped to the frame. I still have space to carry...

    Craziest Lean Angle EVER

One word - Supermoto! Second word - madness! http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=80931&stc=1&d=1206937164 The lean angle beats anything a sports bike could do!

    Motorcycle Lock?

I use a Zena XX14 which I got half price at the start of the year through a UK Bike paper. It's actually louder than the Meta alarm I have on the boke, fits under the seat in a Digi camera case and looks funky. It's sensitive enough to remind you it's there when you forget and try to ride off...

    Chain issues

Good news on the chain front - I just spoke with my dealer this morning and Yamaha UK are honouring the claim. They have a replacement chain ready for me to pick up. I wasn't expecting them to honour it so it's a nice surprise.

    Chain issues

I have the exact same problem on my 2010 (2009 bike though) Diversion with 2k on the clock. I took it back to Brackley Yamaha in Northants and they said they'd try a warranty claim although they weren't sure it would be accepted. I'm still waiting for a reply 1 week on. Mine had about 3 or...

    Helmets...

I have an Arai Condor and a HJC Carbon like the one below but mine has a full face mask built it. I prefer the HJC because it's quite light and looks better. Not the quietest but when I've got tunes playing while I'm riding I forget the wind noise.

    Chain maintenance

Depends on number of factors - how you ride, type of chain lube, gear ratios etc. I think you should be happy if you manage 6-10k out of a stock chain with regular maintenance. You should be able to double that if you use a chain oiler. I have a Scottoiler on every bike I own besides my...

A guide to smoother shifting and smoother acceleration

I find the best way to get a smooth gear chain is to do clutchless gear changes. If done correctly you get an almost effortless gear change with no gear noise and little chain noise.

    Painted GIVI PLX Luggage

In the Uk the naked bike, the XJ6 , has a side stand with no centre stand. The XJ6S (Diversion - half faired - my version) has a side stand and a centre stand. The XJ6F (faired version like the FZ6R but with a single piece seat) I think has a side stand only but could be wrong. I make a...

    This one is kinda interesting???

    Painted GIVI PLX Luggage

I use the same PLXR luggage rack and cases - very handy to be able to remove them because I had a PLR set on my Bandit and they started rusting after 1 winter. I also have a Kappa topbox with Givi rack - not removable but very handy and makes my Diversion look like a full sports tourer.

    Chain Guard

This is a difficult one for me to answer because I ride both road bikes and off road dirt bikes, the latter of which don't have chain guards to prevent mud buildup. The difference being that you tend to be travelling at a slower speed on a dirtbike (but still fast enough to do some damage)...

    Midland BT1 Bluetooth helmet set

Do you mean Bluetooth intercom or radio? I don't know which bluetooth systems can be paired together via Bluetooth but the BT1 and BT2 sets can be used with radio's using an optional ppt lead which provides a lead to the radio and another to a ppt switch on the handlebars. Best feature I...

    Midland BT1 Bluetooth helmet set

Quick review of my new Midland BT1 single Bluetooth system. Bought for £75 from Midland Direct, UK last week I’ve been trying out the functions and am very impressed so far. Alan UK Limited, Midland BT1 Single and Midland BT1 Intercom I was looking for a way to control my music from my Nokia...

What's the best way to Secure the bike from thieves??

As a recent sufferer of bike theft where I had a two week old brand new Aprilia Pegaso Factory stolen I can sympathise with anyone who has suffered a bike loss. I can only agree with the recommendation for theft insurance, GAP policy, alarm and a huge chain. Go one better and get an alarm...

they are out to get you

This might seem like a stupid question but is part of the problem the road layout? In the UK we have generally narrower roads with lower traffic lights on the ground about 10ft high. It seems to me that with the lights so high in the US and the roads being so wide it might make it a bit more...

    Top Case on the cheap

I've got the GIVI top rack and side cases - wasn't cheap but very functional for carrying loads. I haven't got the top box installed in thie picture but you get the idea. I take it from your seat setup you don't carry passengers often?

    camera mount

I tried something similar last year when I went to Wales in the summer for a week. Link below is the one I followed: HOWTO: Cheap Camera Handlebar Mount I couldn't find a camera threat bolt so I used the top of one of those small camera flexi tripods you can buy at camera shops. I bolted it...
