One other thing to keep in mind is the shape. Make sure when you're trying them on you don't feel any pressure points. Some brands and even models withing different brands have a different shape to them. Some are more rounded and some more oval. Some are taller at the crown, come more shallow. I was going to buy an Icon Airframe helmet a while back but they just don't fit my head. One that fit properly most places had a huge pressure point right in the middle of my forehead and the back of my head. However their Domain 2 fits much better. And my Shoei RF1000 is the perfect shape for my head. I was very bummed when I tried on an Arai Corsair V. Uncomfortable as hell on my head. Not that I could afford one at $800. But knowing I couldn't use one even I could afford one was a bummer. It's a beautifully designed helmet and their quality is second to none.
