Another welcome to all the new comers. It is hard to keep up with all the newbies rolling in. Great to have you all. Enjoy yourselves.
Hello gentlemen and ladies,
My name is Matt, I am 21 and I just got my FZ6R last week. Its a 2011 red and black brand new. I seriously can't get off of it, I put over 200 miles on it since Tuesday. I will make any excuse to ride it even for a second. I have had my license for almost a year and never had the money for the bike, but I recently got hired by the company Johnson Controls as a project engineer so I decided to treat myself and by one.
I am looking to put mods on it like crazy! I just ordered my proton flush mount signals and targa FE kit last night after looking over a ton of threads on here. All your posts really helped me out. I am looking to get a windscreen next but I want one in red to match the bike. I can't find any posts about colored ones but I think I am going to test out tinting it myself with the stock windscreen. If all goes well I will do it to an aftermarket one! Wish me luck! Or if anyone knows where I can get one that is red already please let me know!
Thanks!! Safe riding!
You already are, be safe next week..Hello everyone!
My name is Josh, I'm 20 and I am picking up my 2012 FZ6R next week! I reside in Charlotte, NC so anyone in the area that wants to go on a ride, let me know. I recently finished my safety course and acquired my license, but before that, I was looking for what bike I should get. I can honestly admit that just being on this forum and seeing the community alone was a big factor in convincing me to choose the FZ6R!
I'll make sure to post pics when I get it and add a few mods to it!
Safe riding and I can't wait to officially be a part of this community!
Those are great Ideas, it is a very inviting bike to ride.Just pay attention to the wind on the news. You shouldn't have much of a problem going break in speeds, but the wind can sneak up on you easy.Thank you! I am planning on riding it around in my neighborhood for a bit to get used to the bike. I'll probably take it to an advanced riding course so I can work on all of the drills I learned plus some new ones with my bike rather than a test bike.
:welcome: and where exactly is "The Valley"?What's up guys,
My name's Aaron, I live in IL, and I got my 09 FZ6R a couple months ago. I've been using all the great info on the site since I got it and I figured it was high time to join since, especially since I'm lurking around here so often.. Looking forward to using more of the write ups on the site, and thanks to you all who did them
It's actually Coal Valley, small town in western illinois:welcome: and where exactly is "The Valley"?
Cool. I'm originally from the Peoria area. I'll be up there Mother's Day weekend for my wife's graduation from UIUC. I'm riding the bike up from Louisiana. It's actually Coal Valley, small town in western illinois
welcome to the forum! so are those swamp people from the show big celebs there now?Hello, everyone, my name is Joe. I live in a rural area called Hammond, 60 miles outside of New Orleans. Its a nice quiet area that is much safer to ride in than the city, where drivers spend more time gazing into their smart phones than on the road ahead of them. I drive into the city for work. If you know anything about New Orleans, you know that it is great to visit, but not too safe to live in.
I am 59 years old. I don't spend a lot of time riding anymore, but I don't want to give up the sport. My dad bought me my first bike when I was 11. It was a scooter. From there I went to various Honda's until I gave up Japanese bikes for Harley's. I owned four Harleys. I really liked Sportsters. I wasn't too bright back then.
Twelve years ago, I bought a Honda VFR 800. What a great bike. I still regret selling that sweet thing. I traded it in on a VTX 1800 F cruiser. That was also a great bike, but the damn thing was a beast...800 pounds wet. I sold the VTX two weeks ago. When the new owner rode it out of my driveway, I could not even look. I really would like to get an FJR, but until I retire, I am not going to drop large coin like that because I don't want to invest that much money on a bike that I don't ride often enough. Looks like my choice will be a FZ6R. I like the upright ergo's. I can't ride a bike that is a torture rack. For now, I want to buy a bike that is inexpensive and fun to ride. That should be satisfying until I decide if I want to buy the big sport touring FJR. I thought about a FZR years ago, before I bought the big Honda cruiser. I will be lurking, learning, and I will let you know when I get my bike. I may have to wait a little while to see how things shake out with my job.
I guess this is a good enough introduction. I don't know when to shut up. I should have been a D J, but I don't think I could have handled all the women.
I will be around.......Joe
