Ft. Huachuca, AZ, 11th Signal Brigade. Why they send west coast kids to GA and east coast kids to AZ, I'll never figure out.

31S (now 25S) Satellite Communications Systems Operator/Maintainer

Wanted to be Airborne, but the docs said I would make one jump and never walk again due to my knees. My question, "Would I still get my wings?"

Now back in ATL, and working for antenna design and engineering teams making them for the soldiers. Still doing what I love.

They do that to get you away from your Momma! :)

Same thing with me though, west coast kid, requested all west coast duty stations (but none within an 8 hr drive from my hometown), got Va. 'Tis the military!

Disabled vet here:
USN>HM3

Worked with both Navy and Marines, had a taste of both sides and also worked with the USN flight squadrons. I miss it and I would love to still be able to be in, because that would mean that I wouldn't have the injuries that I do now... lol.

Barksdale AFB, The location of the CG rescue swimmer school, for the movie anyways. I don't know why Hollywood did that. The real CG aviation rating schools are in N. Carolina.
I grew up near that AFB in Bossier City, Louisiana, my grandfather was posted there for many years!

Us Army 89 - 96 52d power generation equipment repair. Ft. Ord first duty station. on alert didnt go to panama. Went overseas. Deployed to desert shield / storm with 3/2 ACR. Back to Germany and on to 212 mp co. Back to the states. Ft. Irwin the NTC. maint company. Went to BNOC in Md. Came back and still wasnt motivated to reup. No reserves or guard. If I wanted to deploy again I would have stayed Active duty.

Any one know if the 2nd ACR is still active? Was the oldest Cav on contionus duty. Started May 23, 1836 dont know why I still rember that.
