Got a "Go Cruise" throttle lock in the mail... Put it on the bike to test. Didn't test ride because of weather, but seems like it will really work nicely for long highway cruises.
Took my wife for a 150 mile ride on the bike this morning. It's been 4 months since she's ridden with me since she's even more or a weather wuss than I am. If it's below 65ºF she won't ride.
Went for a solo ride today to get a good feel for the new suspension and the new pegs too. So far I'm enjoying both but I only got to really put them through their paces for a few turns though. The fuzz was out in force on highway 94. Really made it not fun. Even not doing anything wrong, I got CHP headlights flashed at me 3 times from cops sitting on the side of the road facing the other direction. Had one Sheriff who was parked up a long driveway come out the the road to point down to the ground telling me to slow down when I wasn't even doing the 55mph speed limit. Had to have been 15 or more CHP and Sheriff cars out there today. Pretty much sucks being targeted like that just for being on a sportbike. They're focusing on that road now because all the other popular roads at high elevation are in terrible shape from the snow and sanding. Every rider passing the other way I was giving the tap to the helmet and they were giving it to me. Just cut the ride short and came home the back way and enjoyed some of the less popular back roads.
FINALLY got my bike out for the first time yesterday. Actually pulled it out from under the cover and started it up on Sat, but didn't have a chance to ride until yesterday. It was about 13C, so I got to test out how warm my new gear is. Road for a couple of hours and was comfortable the whole time. It was sweet to finally get out after 5 months. Adjusted all my controls from the factory settings - that makes a big difference.
