They are nice for the price. Not the best quality but get the job done. Can't remember the brand just on top of my mind. Just search ebay for sporstbike saddle bags, they're the only one that cheap. They also expand 3"...Those are nice bags. What brand are they? Yes, I have a tank bag. I've been using the tank bag as a place to rest while I go down the road.
That link seems to be the seller. This one looks like the bags though. A friend had a set of Cortech soft bags on his bike and found that they shifted around a bit, and scratched up the paint. Did you have this problem?eBay My World - tmshelmet
Here's the link for my saddlebags. $55.00 right now... buy 2 sets and change them.... I think I'm going to order a new set
Here's how my bags are mounted. I pretty much drill a hole thru the bags and put a bolt with 2 big washers. We made 800 miles trip and the bags were solid... no moving around. That link seems to be the seller. This one looks like the bags though. I had nothing much going on today, so thanks for the project. I opted to try a bracket without mounting it to the frame and see how that goes. I used a simple piece of garage door opener framing, cut to the length I needed and just used pliers and a mallet for some quick bends. Drilled a hole in each bag and threw some bolts through, with a rubber gromet. I used a self-locking nut on one side and a wingnut on the other. This way I can see if the wingnut has any vibration issues. If not, then I'll get some of the larger plastic covered ones like you used. It is supposed to warm up to 65 tomorrow so I'll get a nice long test ride in.Welcome Mate. Lowes got those nice plastic knobs kind of wing nut looking...
I wonder if that would start wearing out your grips after a while...I'm up in the air on a coast-coast.... while I think the 6R could do it... with a few comfy mods.... I think if you are going to get into something like that and want to do even 2-5 trips a year, you are going to want the bigger, built for long tour, ride.
The 6R may be fine for the once a year, or couple of years (I personally could see doing the OH ride every year on rt 50, but even that's only about 500 miles), but to really enjoy the ride, long rides, and not be sore for several days after, to have power for heated gear, gps, etc., to not be knocked around by a few gusts of wind... a full tour, or sport tour ride will be more enjoyable.
I'm the man... LOL Custom Windscreen... :canada:I am putting the plx givi hard bags and a trunk on mine. I am also having my stator rewound, I would like the extra ele. power. I am also getting the gears changed for the highway use as I do not need off the line speed. I would agree with a winshield however there was a post on here somewhere and can't seem to find it where a guy made a really nice one. Might I suggest also the hid light upgrade, as well as led turn signals, and brake lights added to the luggage.
OK... I wanted to know if you will make the one I saw with out the hand guards. I THINK it was the 26". and do yo only make them tinted??I'm the man... LOL Custom Windscreen... :canada:
