Im just wanting something small, like would this work on our bike with an R6 Header? Graves Motorsports Yamaha R6 Slip-On Exhaust System 2006-2011
I would say that you would have to make sure that you have piping from the header to ensure that the can can fit where you are mounting it.So will ANY R6 Slip on work with our bikes as long as we install the R6 header?
thats going to be CRAZY LOUD...seeing as that bike with the pipe still has the cat...with our bike it would acting as a straight pipeIm just wanting something small, like would this work on our bike with an R6 Header? Graves Motorsports Yamaha R6 Slip-On Exhaust System 2006-2011
I guess we could fit whatever... I will be using the stock 6R headers, R6 is quite time consuming to be able to do it for cheap. But if you want to bend it yourself I could fit about anything custom toyour needs. Even on the 6R set up I might have 2 options. The reverse cone (3" to 2") and the collector. The collector is a bit more work but worth the investment. I'm just trying to give you more option to fit your budget...So will ANY R6 Slip on work with our bikes as long as we install the R6 header?
I agree with you. You will have a bit more torque out of it. We might have accomplish the same result, just a different way. That's what I like about Supertrapp. It gives you the option of tunning the back pressure... same way you did with a longer pipe.Question for Marthy.
I know you did a dyno test and have the results. I wonder if a second test with the exhaust pipe lengthened about 6 to 10 inches will show any change in HP.
I noticed a distinct improvement with mine after adding the bend and straight piece to add about 8" to the total length. Making the exhaust too short defeats the scavenging effect and choking the pipe with plates etc to get it back defeats the open flow of exhaust.
The original exhaust used the choke it till it doesn't require a longer pipe for scavenging method. If you look at the MotoGP bikes, almost all of them have exhaust systems that end almost past the rear tire. They are VERY long.
I can do that... look at this. But with all honesty, I won't try it on my bike. I like my neighbor... That defenatly need some dino tunning...thats going to be CRAZY LOUD...seeing as that bike with the pipe still has the cat...with our bike it would acting as a straight pipe
Sound like a plan. Witch slip on are you interested in?If you need a Gunie pig header mine is available...ill even drive it to you or ship it...and id even throw you some money to start...just depends on the amount
Do you think you could get me a list of some exhaust you would think would work (and not make me deaf) and let me know some prices? I'd definitely be willing to pick up an R6 Header and ship it to you :lol:I can do that... look at this. But with all honesty, I won't try it on my bike. I like my neighbor... if i go through with my stock 6r header...i will sell you my 03 r6 headerDo you think you could get me a list of some exhaust you would think would work (and not make me deaf) and let me know some prices? I'd definitely be willing to pick up an R6 Header and ship it to you
Cool. I will build one over the weekend with the Viper can on my own stock headers. If you like it I will take yours in exchange. Iwillneed toput few miles on the first one just to make sure the mapping is about right. (AutoTune still on my bike) My Supertrapp map is pretty good, all I need is put about 50-75 miles on it. I'm more concern about the top end then anything. So you will have an O2 plug on yours... you won't be able to see it really.i like the look of the viper best
Viper might be a good option for you. But in the other hand... Supertrappcan be whatever you want. Loud one day, quietthe other... just think about your options. :wav:Do you think you could get me a list of some exhaust you would think would work (and not make me deaf) and let me know some prices? Marthy, I have to say, you have really transformed this thread, and I love what you are doing for memebers here to get a customized exhaust who are not able to get the TBR or other exhaust that is much more expensive. I was interested too, and didn't think that I would get the money to get the TBR that I wanted, and turns out I was able to, but I will keep you in mind when any FZ6R owner asks me about exhaust. It is always nice to know a guy. Let me know if you need any help, I would love to help in any way that I can.Viper might be a good option for you. But in the other hand... I'd like to hear sound clips of the supertrapp and viper on the 6r header to compare to see which I like better. I'd like something loud and aggressive. So I could go with either one just depending what I like.Supertrapp

With 2-1 Collector: $400.00 (adapted to your 6R headers)
Price subject to change... as long as the parts stay at the same price...
What I mean by reverse cone is I just install a 3" to 2" reducer (after I cut the world most famous ugly can...lol) With a 2-1 collector 2" outlet, it will look more like the R6 headers. Not sure witch one will be better on the dino, but I personnaly prefer the 2-1 collector.
I know that Marthy is tuning these exhausts with his PCV and Autotuner, and he recommends it, but I think that he said that it isn't a requirement. He can give you the map that he creates for it if you do have the PCV.I'd like to hear sound clips of the supertrapp and viper on the 6r header to compare to see which I like better. Would you need a tune with those exhausts?
Strongly suggest you PCV. The main reason, I will give you the MAP. If you look in this post there's a clip from the Supertrapp. And I'm sure you can find one of the Viper can. I will sound about the same. I will make a clip of the Viper when I'm done with it...I'd like to hear sound clips of the supertrapp and viper on the 6r header to compare to see which I like better. Don't get AutoTune... I took the hit for all of us....I know that Marthy is tuning these exhausts with his PCV and Autotuner, and he recommends it, but I think that he said that it isn't a requirement. He can give you the map that he creates for it if you do have the PCV.
