  • Yeah it wasn't as huge of a deal as it could have been for me because I do like working on my bike and take pride when I build something. And I was unemployed at the time so I had lots of time during the day to do it. But like I said, for only a little more cash you get a bolt on system that is designed to fit and doesn't need any fabrication.
If I could do it again, I wouldn't go the route I did. Trying to bend the headers was a royal pain in the ass. I'd say it took me a full 25-28 hours to put this system together. Unless you have a tubing bender, I wouldn't attempt it. And I didn't really save a whole lot of money. The header was $40 or so, the muffler was $230 I think. The PCV was $300, I spent about $60 or so on random hardware. So to save $250-$300 or so, I spent 28 hours, a lot of sweat, a lot of back pain, and a lot of cursing, and it's still not quite right. It's not bent out enough so I had to grind a large chunk off the rear break lever.

Don't get me wrong, the thing sound bad ass and it's running better than ever. But just not worth it when you can have a simple bolt on system on it for an extra month of saving or so and only take and hour or two.

    Here's a sound bite.
