New levers

Anybody ever think of making a How-to on how to remove, grind down, and replace that brake rod? I just ordered these levers and honestly have no idea where that thing even is haha

Seems from reading this thread though that it'd be worth the money to just save and get the Pazzo's.

The rod pulls out of the handle very easily and it takes less than 5 minutes to file and polish the end to a better finish than factory. I don't know how much money you make per hour but the difference in cost between the Pazzos and the Diversion levers by 5 minutes work makes you either a high paid Attorney, a Brain Surgeon or Robert Gibbs.
Then again if you have 2 left feet and your thumbs are oppositionally opposed, I'd have them installed. Just purchasing the Pazzos doesn't guarantee the rod will fit perfectly.

Could it be possible to get a picture of a location? I've never even thought about working on a bike until I got the FZ6R so yeah haha

and I make decent money at 22$ an hour (Engineer), but stil I search for cheap stuff haha

Good on you...I understand your thought process to see the whole process before starting it and getting in over your head or finding hidden nightmare problems. AND...you have a sense of humor...+++++++++++

There is another thread for a manual that will help tremendously.

Look here for the rod measurement after it was shortened and polished. In my post I have a couple of pics.

Hey ry-mac how do you like those fire dragon shorties? were there any modifications like the other cheap ones everyone is getting?

I'm just looking for something cheaper than pazzo's or asv's, and I'm not the greatest or have the tools for modding parts

Alright, thanks man, I just ordered the manual and i'll go ahead and grind the thing down so when the new levers get here it'll be ready to go :)

I find myself 2 fingering the levers all the time.
I decided to get a cheap set of shortys as I don't want to pay the Pazzo price.

Clutch Brake Lever for Yamaha FZ6R XJ6 DIVERSION 2009: eBay Motors (item 270598065988 end time Jul-24-10 01:12:05 PDT)

I know they are 6061 aluminum and the 7075 is better.

I ordered the red to go with my FZ1 footpegs.....

Don't forget to read the how to on installing these. There is a great write up here on this site! I got the regular length levers and love them. You do have to make some adjustments to the brake actuator and I didn't like the slop of the clutch so I took the bushing from the stock clutch lever and turned it down on my lathe to make it fit inside of the brass bushing that comes with the lever. Now it is perfect! Enjoy!

Just pulled the trigger and bought the Fire Dragon Bros shortys from ebay, I'll take some picks before and after their installed tell ya how I like them in the spring when it's warm again and no snow haha

Here is the link if anyone is interested: Black Fire Dragon Bros Shortys with Red Adjuster

i knocked the brass bushing out of the new lever with the appropriate sized socket, and the bushing from the original lever fits in perfect without modification.

Fire Dragon Brothers Levers

Just took a week from payment to delivery with 2 of those days waiting for them to ship the product over the MLK Day Weekend.

I won't have a chance to put them on for a while now but they feel like they are solidly built and look great! This was a great use of $55 incl shipping compared to the price tag of pazzos or asv levers =)

Well just got one of my friends to install the levers, took him maybe 5 minutes at the most since he works on bikes all the time. They look great and he said hes put a few on other bikes and they are good quality and likes them more than alot of the other cheapo levers

(sorry for the quality, it was taken on my htc)

Did these fit right out of the box or were there modifications necessary like some of the others had to do? I'm considering the FDB levers too!

Me and a buddy put them on, he checked everything that he would usually check at the shop and they seemed fine. I'll check the calipers to see if there is any pressure next time I'm home. But I was told there would be no modding necessary by FDB and on of the members here (the name is slipping my mind atm). Hope this is a help! and they look great in person and feel solid! =D
