Anybody ever think of making a How-to on how to remove, grind down, and replace that brake rod? I just ordered these levers and honestly have no idea where that thing even is haha
Seems from reading this thread though that it'd be worth the money to just save and get the Pazzo's.
Could it be possible to get a picture of a location? I've never even thought about working on a bike until I got the FZ6R so yeah haha
and I make decent money at 22$ an hour (Engineer), but stil I search for cheap stuff haha
If anyone is interested I have blue shortys for sale, didn't use them since I sold my bike.
Good on you...I understand your thought process to see the whole process before starting it and getting in over your head or finding hidden nightmare problems. AND...you have a sense of humor...+++++++++++
There is another thread for a manual that will help tremendously.

Look here for the rod measurement after it was shortened and polished. In my post I have a couple of pics.

I find myself 2 fingering the levers all the time.
I decided to get a cheap set of shortys as I don't want to pay the Pazzo price.
Clutch Brake Lever for Yamaha FZ6R XJ6 DIVERSION 2009: eBay Motors (item 270598065988 end time Jul-24-10 01:12:05 PDT)
I know they are 6061 aluminum and the 7075 is better.
I ordered the red to go with my FZ1 footpegs.....
Don't forget to read the how to on installing these. There is a great write up here on this site! I got the regular length levers and love them. You do have to make some adjustments to the brake actuator and I didn't like the slop of the clutch so I took the bushing from the stock clutch lever and turned it down on my lathe to make it fit inside of the brass bushing that comes with the lever. Now it is perfect! Enjoy!
Well just got one of my friends to install the levers, took him maybe 5 minutes at the most since he works on bikes all the time. They look great and he said hes put a few on other bikes and they are good quality and likes them more than alot of the other cheapo levers
(sorry for the quality, it was taken on my htc)
