220 mph on a high speed oval + 3 & 4 wide racing. Drivers admitted that people were pushing too hard at that point in the race and it got out of control.Does anyone know how the crash happened? High price to pay for racing. One of the interviews on Faster where one of the riders became paralyzed was that sometimes they really push too themselves too far to win. Sigh
LOrenzo was trying to save a high side, and Spies crashed at at very fast corner.does anyone know how Lorenzo crashed & lost his ring finger? (and Spies' crash?)
Yamaha's web site isn't giving many details.
I have to say that I'm leaning toward this. I'll watch of course. Always will. but this year was honestly pretty damn boring in the premier class. Just like F1 was. When one guy stinks up the paddock like that, it's just not exciting. In F1, Vettel clinched in Japan (not last weekend but the one before that) with 5 races still to go. MotoGP and Stoner killed everyone with 2 races to go. There were some epic battles this year but they were all for 3rd, 4th, etc... Spies winning was the highlight of the year but even with that, it was an absolute run away. I'm hoping going to the 1000cc bikes and production based bottom ends will bring everyone a little closer. I think the Honda just flat was the better bike of any of them. Their "DCT" tranny that's not really a DCT I think made a HUGE difference this year and either everyone needs to copy, or they need to ban it. But they had 4 factory bikes (3 Repsol and Simoncelli's San Carlo bike) on the grid and almost every race, they were the class of the field. I'm not a Suzuki fan, but it was nice to see Bautista up there this week for a bit.If next season will be the same , I'll stop watching MotoGP races.... pointless.... the 125cc soon to be Moto3 and Moto2 are real races....they are scrapping it out from the first to the last lap.
Yes and yes, but they're also very much on the limit. Just because you have a steering damper doesn't mean you can't get yourself into a tank slapper. But they really do help prevent one. If I were you I'd get one. If anyone made one for the FZ6R I'd save of some cash to put one on. There's no reason not to put it on other than if you don't want to spend the money. Won't do any harm, could only help.do motogp race bikes have steering dampers? if they do, can they still tank slap?
i am still on the fence as to whether or not i should get one for the R6... everyone says i should, but i don't really ride that aggressively.
Stoner is a very talented rider, I can't stand him, but, he is a very talented rider. Add that and Honda being the Ferrari of MotoGP (if you don't make the connection don't worry about it)....welll yeah he took the championship since Pedrosa brakes every time he goes down...another angle was that since stoner came from ducati, and those bikes are so difficult to ride, that making the switch to honda made things so much easier for him? i know rossi's been riding with lingering injuries. but, he wasn't really much of a threat to anyone this year.
146k in a straight line? Jeebus. I thought 30 miles in New Mexico was a pain to stay awake for. That road is either famous for fatalities or just doesn't get used that often I would suppose.A heap of guys from a local bike forum I read went to the MotoGP. Here's a pic of a couple of them celebrating the win.
The guy on the Busa road from Perth to Phillip Island 3600km (approx LA to Chicago) in 2 and a bit days. Here he is before he left.

The return trip was just under 2 days. Probably wound open the Busa a few times I would say. Crossing the Nullabor and Australia's longest straight stretch of road (146.6km) must have been pretty boring though.
Map of the trip for those interested.

Just be thankful I didn't put up the frontal shot.i'm blind now... x_X y couldn't it have been 2 hot chics in bikini's instead? lol...
Trivia question: what is the longest stretch of rail, can anybody tell me without looking it up?)Only road linking east and east (without going round the top end, in which case a 4x4 is a necessity). Whilst that is the longest stretch, I don't imagine the few hundred k's in either direction have many turns either.
Most common traffic would be "road trains." But I think most freight would go via rail. Incidentally the 2nd longest straight stretch of rail in the world too.
