7/01/2010 paid cash, rode it home that day, and the fun began. 
Everyone has there different reasons. For me, I road on and off in Europe and the States. My last bike was a 91' ZX7R, I sold it in 1995 and never really road again until the last 3 years.
I wanted to ride again so I got something that wasn't too small nor to big and was in expensive (NEW) considering. However, I knew I would end up on a super sport again it was just a matter of time.

I think most have the same reasoning. Don't want something too big or too small. Ergos probably don't factor into the equation for most. I got the 6r for the same reasons, been a while since I rode, cheap new, and enough power without being ss.

the fz6r is my first bike, I was dead set on buying a CBR 250, for the weight, the feel and the gas milage, but I live in an area where the high way is all around me, if I need to get somewhere I would probably need the high way. I wanted more punch. I went around and sat on pretty much any bike available to me within 40-60 miles of my house, for almost 2 years. i found that I liked the fz6r, it catered to my small self well, other than feeling heavy. I wanted something I wouldn't out grow or commit suicide trying to ride. I found this forum, I asked questions, and ever since I found this community I have been in love with my fz6r. I haven't found much else compromise. I can't see upgrading, there isn't much to upgrade to the fz6r fits my needs.... if it wasn't as heavy and had better gas milage it would be perfect. and thats all there is to it.... there isn't much on the market that doesn't sacrifice the power, smoothness and stability of the fz6r and offer me what id like.
Oh, I know my wife well enough to avoid death (and ensure continued sexual favours). I'm going to be adding some seat foam for the pillion and reshaping it. Then we top it with a nice Airhawk cushion, and we should have marital bliss for at least a few hours a day.
It's amazing how intentionally crappy the vast majority of pillion seats are. 98% are designed just for looks.
You two are my heroes, because my wife and I were screaming for mercy after about an hour during our tour of Nova Scotia. Our longest riding days were probably under 400 kms, and we made sure to stop every 45 minutes or so.

5 years 600 miles been disabled forever ride just when I get an itch to.
I was the same way until this year, but this is my 3rd season. I just had wrist surgery on both wrists finally and therapy for my elbows (+ shots) and don't feel 100% yet,but a lot closer than I've ever been. I've ridden to work more this year than the last 2 combined. I ride to work whenever it's not forecast to rain (40 miles round trip). Logged about 600 miles this season.

Got mine a month and a half ago got about 3300 miles on it and love it. It is a lot more fun to ride then my cruiser was. I do plan on getting a SS but I will keep my 6r for my commute and have my R6 for fun

Three weeks.. 900 miles.. I came from a CB500f that I had for a season and did 3,000 miles on. I can see doing that this next month!
