Hey, don't discount the Mazda 3 and 6 series from 2006 to 2008. I have 6, V6 and although not a powerhouse by todays standards a very fun car to drive. With good tires it clings for dear life in the corners which is where I like to play. I upgraded the coil over shocks and springs. Money well spent. A Miata would be blast for a toy, but if you need something more practical, the 3s and 6's are good driving cars.
