Yeah, I watch WSB and MotoGP religiously too. The only auto racing I watch now is F1.
Motorcycle racing is so much more exciting because of the constant overtaking that takes place and the rivalry between the Master (Rossi) and the Upstart (Lorenzo) is fascinating to watch.
And I believe...
I think you have to balance protection with flexibility. When I started biking early in the year I purchased a pair on Icon Long Merc Gloves. They look cool and have a ton of protection. Only problem is you can't "feel" the bike with them. And they weren't terribly flexible.
So in early...
I agree with your view, however Yamaha says to change the oil filter with every other oil change and since they built the bike, logic suggests that it's not necessary to change the filter at every oil change.
I think it all depends on how long you plan on owning your bike. If you plan to...
I would say it depends on what you want to spend. If (like me) you didn't want to go over 10K I don't think there is a better value out there. I would look at the Kawasaki Versys or ER6-N, maybe the Suzuki Gladius or Ducati Monster 696.
Of course over 10K you are getting into a myriad of...
Amazing! That's the first thing that came to mind after a run with my newly acquired heated vest.
The vest keeps your body core so warm that it send out excess warmth to all your body parts, including your hands. I wear very flexible but thin gloves and and my hands were kept toasty in the...
I picked up a heated vest today from the Ducati/BMW/Triumph dealer. It's a "Gears GenX2 heated vest". It's a Canadian Company so might not be in the states. I'll wire it up tomorrow. Looks pretty straightforward.
While I was there I sat on a Triumph Daytona 675. That is a nice machine...
Most twin engines, like the Ducati have more low end grunt, generally speaking.
I think most of us in town run the FZ6R around 4000 rpm, I do anyway, there is nothing under 3500 and there is no reason to run at such a low engine speed. If you want grunt at 2000 RPM, I think you gotta look at...
I'm going to look at heated vests this weekend. Apparently the trick is to keep your core organs warm. Does anyone know where the "accessory" plug-in is on our bikes or if it has one?
Before I started riding a Motorcycle I read everything I could read about riding a bike, and everything I could see on You Tube. I pretty much spent last winter reading reviews and reading about riding advice.
By far the best of all that I found was the advice provided by an Australian dude...
Actually, if you shift a little slower you can get it pretty smooth. It's not as bad as I made out in my earlier post. Sometimes it glides in like butter. If you work at being smooth, it is usually not a bad shift.
I wouldn't say they were completely different bikes. I think the Triumph is more sporty than a Tourer, if you take the saddlebags off, its a mean looking machine and I do think it's the most beautiful bike I've seen. Pictures don't do it justice. I wouldn't keep the FZ6R and you are right...
I spent some time lurking in th R1 Forum. One guy had an interesting quote:
"I decided I would rather have power and not need it than need it and not have it"
There was a thread comparing a 600 (like an R6) to a litre bike. All of them said they would never go back to the 600. It's to be...
Thats the thing, you'd never use the power that you are paying for. At least on our bikes, you can twist every HP out of it. Still they are selling them for the street and the 2009 model has adjustable pegs and apparently not so extreme (aggressive) body positioning. Still you have to be...
Well I'm already thinking about my next bike. The FZ6R is so much fun, would not a more capable bike even be that much more fun?
I know the R1 has crazy power and speed, but it also (I assume) has great brakes and handling. Probably a handful at first and I'm sure it comes with a...
Hey Gizmogirl, nice to meet you. Unfortunately I live in a Condo and don't have the facilities to do this stuff myself. I'd be afraid of screwing the bike up anyway. Good suggestion tho for someone that's handy and has a garage.
