There are two types of riders...

The Good and the Bad Two things: first the good...I've just upgraded to a FZ8S, and I'm loving it. A little extra torgue and with the same nibble handling of the Z6. So everthing is good there. I've pick up some great replies from this site so I'm really greatfull for the help along the...

    Riding on Dirt

dirty weekends I love a little dirt - no front brake, slow early watch surface i.e avoid really soft stuff as much as possible, use throttle to steady bike if you are losing traction. Its OK if real wheel is side to side as long as the front isn't. Stay loose, your real wheel is your friend...

    Free 5 minute exhaust mod

h i victor, I did this too, a few days ago... I'm wondering if you have had any bad effects from doing this?

    Throttle restriction removal

well done furious, Its a great little bike with full throttle. I did mine some time ago with the advice and tips of the good people on this site. I didn't have a problem with the play, which surprised me. Although I think a remember tightening a nut on the throttle cable, plate side. Hope that...

thanks for the info guys, I'll try and place something to to keep the front wheel straight, if that fails I'll go for the adaptors, thanks guys for the tips and to 'see red '.. no paddock yet but wouldn't mind having one

    paddock stand issues

Hi guys, Can anyone recommend where along the swing arm to put paddock stand. I'm usually on my own and get nervous putting it on the open side of the axle nut. When I put it on the inside it tends to slide and tyre ends up touching the ground again - (causing me to turn into Basil Fawlty)...

    upgrade to fz6?

Thanks, I Like this idea, the truth is the fz6r is heaps of fun and very versatile. I'll definitely check this option out. Bikes in Oz are way overpriced, so a serious upgrade is seriously expensive.

    upgrade to fz6?

thanks for your thoughts guys, the main thought behind the upgrade was that when I'm hard on the throttle it sometimes cuts out, you can rev this bike hard but I'm curious to see what a bike with more HP rides like. I took the restrictor off a year ago and its only rarely that I want more. The...

    upgrade to fz6?

Hi all, I'm thinking of an inexpensive upgrade. My Fz6r is a fantastic bike, but, the Fz6 has more HP, adjustable suspension, revs higher, lighter stronger body??? That is based on my research, I wonder what you guys think. Should I shop around for a good condition, say 2008 Fz6? (I currently...

    newbie

I went with black too. The red and white also looks great. Re the restriction: I think you need to go to "resart". Also agree with Drew you'll love the bike with full power. Read up on insurance issues ect, just so you know, and ride safe  ps derestricted mine at around 1500 (10,000...

    Riding on dirt roads

Hi guys, Just got back from a two day ride with experienced club riders. We rode around 500 k's (300 miles) a day and most was at higher speeds ;). I was really impressed with these guys relaxed style and high skill levels, most were veteran riders. My only concern was that they like to throw in...

    58 Kw

Still a nice bike, but underpowered. Could be good for a learner, then later go for full power on full license. :aus:

    reversing down my driveway advice

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone might know more than I do about the way our brakes are set up. I have a very old narrow garage, which I have to reverse into it. I usually stop at the top of the driveway, switch the engine off, point the bike away from the garage door and, slowing, using the front...

    58 Kw

I'm not certain you have that right. 58 kw is 78 hp which is the power of the US fz6r and the australian xj6 (non Lams) I think the restricted Fz6 is 25 kw. Fitting easily into the power to weight Lams rules. The Fz6r is roughly 200 kgs - one fifth of a tonne (I think).:)

    derestrict lams bike question

Depends on their attitude. If you don't bring it up and your warranty problem is unrelated, I think you'd be OK. If I had a prob, I'd would most likely replace restrict bracket, have prob fixed and then restore derestrict bracket. I'm curious about the legal derestrict story I read...

    derestrict lams bike question

My fz6r is so good to ride after derestriction courtesy of helpful links provided by members on this site, once again, thanks for those postings:) I read on another site that I guy was told by yamaha, these bikes could be legally derestricted... also that once deretricted and registed as such...
