Sometime between 10pm Wednesday night and 6am Thurdsay someone stole my bike right out of the parking lot next to my apartment building. Owned it for an entire three months. Worst part is, after I rode it Saturday I got lazy and didnt put my Xena alarm. Im kicking myself in the ass now.

Sorry to hear about the theft! I hope that you are able to recover the bike, and in an unmolested state!

That's aweful!

I wonder if there is a product you can trace via desktop or phone and hide somewhere on the bike but doesn't cost an arm and leg. It would be cool to use like iCloud finds your iPhone/iPad. I've seen spot tracker and items like that could work and not as expensive and LoJack where someone else monitors the bike. I'm thinking something cheaper that you can monitor and relay the address you ping to the police. Most items out there now you pay $$$$ for the companies to monitor, 3rd party?

"Do you unda staaaand?" - kill bill vol. 1

Now you've got me thinking....shall we get a business venture started for DIY theft tracking!? Use your smartphone or computer to track the whereabouts of a vehicle or person.

Damn sorry to hear that.
always worried about that happening to me

hopefully it gets recovered even though its probably a long shot

That's what I was thinking. Did you have full coverage? If so, fight for as much money as you can get back.

Carry some kind of protection with you in case you do happen to see the bike somewhere. I wouldn't confront a theft without something to back me up. Odds are that your frame and fairings are spray painted some different color by now. Look at the color combinations for the FZ6r like the raven and look for differences in any 6r you see. Hopefully the thief is an idiot and sells it locally or rides it locally.

A guy on the fz1oa forum found his bike by hearing the custom exhaust that he modded himself. He said the bike looked nothing like what was stolen from him.

Bummer!

Man I am sorry to hear about your bike being stolen that really sucks, though it brings back a memory of the one time I forgot to lock my truck and the next morning when I awoke to go to work, I get to my truck and open the door to find it completely in disaray and all my tools and radio and GPS, everything but the car seat gone! I was completely cleaned out and it had to be more than one person cause the tools alone, you needed two people to carry that. I understand how you feel, and all I can say is " I am sorry and I feel bad for you". but keep your head up and think positive, cause there is always a silver lining. Hope you get your bike back or the insurance will cough up the money for you to get a new one. Good luck my friend!

I have to say 99 that is not a bad idea! I always have it in the back of my mind about my bike being stolen. I am sure it is possible but how much would it cost and how easy would it be to trace?

Someone didn't have a motorcycle and you did. Share the wealth, man. Isn't that the new trend these days?

Yeah, I know.... its only ok if the Gov't takes it from you.

If I didn't have a locked garage and an alarm system I don't think I would own a motorcycle. There are too many Occupy XX Street socialists out there that think what is your's is theirs. Anyone that thinks they are entitled to my bike might just take it if it's not locked up out of sight.

Good luck to you in recovering the bike and I hope the best for you.

damn. sorry to hear man. hope it can be recovered or ur insurance will cover it. :(
