Well, it was my turn today....I wrecked the bike....and my wife was along for the ride too... We were headed down a mountain, and were taking a low speed corner. We couldn't have been going more than 30 mph. I am blaming it on the pipes that we put on it. The Vance and Hines pipes that we have on it are actually lower than stock. We scrape pipes before we scrape pegs, so it becomes a pivot point at greater lean angles. That is what happened today, and I think next I am going to send V&H an email, because they may want to consider a design change!!! If we are friends on Facebook, don't say anything there, my wife hasn't been able to talk to her dad yet.

Did I mention that I was recording with the Gopro? Below is the vid, and I want to say that in the video the turn is deceiving, but the photos tell the story a little better.

We are okay, I think that I bruised my ribs, because it is hard to breathe, that is what all the noise is about, because that hurts like hell!! I have a little rash on my wrist where it pushed my jacket up, and some on my hip since I slid, and a few bruises. My wife has some rash on both knees, but not too bad. She also had a swollen wrist, and some rash on her fingers since her glove ripped.

so sorry buddy but Im glad you and the wife are ok. Could you tell something was wrong at first? seemed like you tried to recover it as best you could but you were already being drug down by the road. Either way...glad your safe the bike can be fixed.

Real happy to see both you and your wife are basically ok... Another testimonial for ATGATT... Looked like you slid a bit on your back as well -- solves the question I had about adding a back-plate to my Dianese jacket...

If the right bag, and tank were the only casualties (and I'm assuming the pipes took a hit -- but I'm also assuming you're rethinking keeping them), I'm thinking perhaps it could have been worse. Chrome looked pretty good from what I could see...

Damn man... Really sorry to hear that. Glad it was not any worse.

If those ribs still hurt, might want to have them checked out. Even a skilled practitioner often has a tough time telling the difference between badly bruised and partially fractured. Not that there's all that much they can do to treat them, but it's helpful to know what's up so you can avoid stressing the area again until it's completely healed.

In any case, looks like the gear did its job and glad to hear you're mostly OK.

Oh my gosh you guys!! So SO glad that you are okay!! I'm sorry about the road rash on your girl hopefully she will be fine!

The whole rib thing is horrible... it is a very uncomfortable pain that has to really heal on its own which takes quite a while unfortunately! I feel for you Chad!! I'm soooooo sorry that you guys went down and got hurt but luckily not any worse!!

Busted a couple myself, wakeboarding (or rather trying to). While there's nothing you can do but wait for them to heal, what I *didn't* know was that if you have lots of pain, and don't do light meds for it, you can sub-consciously suppress coughing, and movement, which can exacerbate infection...

So, git er done...

I am glad you are okay. The bruised ribs are going to hurt, maybe as bad as cracked ribs but it could have been worse. Again, I am glad yall are okay.

Yea that wasnt a very bad turn, and as soon as the exhaust scraped it was over.Id blame it on the cause too...

But seriously, glad you're still amongst the living man. I wrecked with an ex-lady on board, too. It sucks bad, too be sure.
