I think hes trying to bust that myth....9k miles on a plug

No, I'm just a cheap b@stard.

It's worked so far, but it just started leaking. I'm down the wear bars anyways, so I guess it's time to replace them.

I'm the same way... 2k on my current plug. Nail in it within 1k of that tire's life.

I'm not recommending plugs, but a small puncture won't cause a blow out. It takes a lot for that to happen.
However, any puncture will probably damage the cords running through the tire. This may decrease the speed rating of the tire and make it wear faster. But putting a plug in your tire isn't going to directly cause a blowout.

anyway, back to chicken strips. These are my fav

Any size hole can cause a rupture. To each their own but in my opinion using a plug/patch on a motorcycle tire is worse than not wearing any gear. I'm not a NooB that is just throwing my opinion out there i am 23days from Graduating with a degree in Motorsports Tech. Always Replace NEVER PATCH/PLUG. If you crash and insurance company sees the patch/plug your claim will be denied.

CC you really need to come down to where I am at. I am not all that skilled but there are some great twisties down in the bluffs in SE MN. I will have to get out and do a ride soon with the gopro so you can see for yourself.

The twisties down here in SE MN are amazing!!
