Stumbles, my wife doesn't like my bikes either, but I told her a track bike was great since it would allow me to have fun in a safe environment, while improving my skills and getting my aggression out... in other words it's the safe thing to do... and she bought it
Here is the list of things to buy so far:
- DOT #4 brake fluid
- Motor oil
- K&N Oil filter (with safety wire hook)
- Oil drain plug gasket
- All coolant hoses & drain gaskets
- Fuel line
- Front master cylinder rebuild kit
- Caliper seal kit
- Brake pads
- Brake lines + copper gaskets
- Water wetter concentrate + distilled water
- Fork Oil
- Epoxy glue (to repair the rear cowling brass insert)
- Spark Plugs
- Radiator cap
- Chain lub (Dupont)
- K&N Air filter
- Frame Sliders
- Track Plastics
- R-K 525 chain master link
- Front tire stand (T-Rex?)
And the things to do/inspect/repair:
- drive chain + both sprockets: inspect/clean/adjust: done
- check battery: done
- drain fuel from tank (very old) and replace
- oil + filter change
- replace all coolant hoses (including overflow and throttle body)
- replace fuel line
- flush cooling system & refill with water wetter + new rad cap.
- change fork oil
- check steering head bearings and re-pack grease
- check/replace air filter
- fix handlebar end (right side is loose)
- replace spark plugs
- re-build front brake
- check valves and adjust
- find and fix the electrical turn signal issue
- check/adjust engine idle speed
- check/adjust brake & throttle cables
- check/torque main bolts
- lub control levers + brake pedal, gear shift and side stand pivots
