I have owned my ducati monster since decemeber, i did a fender eliminator and never noticed that my tail light had stopped working, last night i solved the issue, the ducati has a microswitch that activates the brake light, well the plunger had gone AWAL i replaced it with a hollow point .17cal pellet. Lol works great.
Well.... this afternoon i headed out on a ride, brake light turn signals and all were working, but my headlight failed to come on, and i had a check engine light that read"error lights" i did some googling and found that it coukd be a blown fuse, so i got fuses and every time i replaced it, the bike woukd pop it. I tried a larger fuse and popped the main fuse, on which i found little help because the ducati forum sucks compared to here ... all i found was " check the owners manual" "take it to the dealer" " could be yhe head light relay" " could be the voltage regulator".
Well after the pain in the dickens to get to the main fuse which i found out later didnt require as much work as i made it, thanks to a lack of education again due to the forum. My head light only works if i hold the pass light trigger... so the bulbs are good but i havent solved the issue yet.. anyone got any hints or tips? Ill contiue to research foe VR and the Relay... but i couldnt join the monster forum so ill post all this here in hopes someone with find it and avoid the headache i just went through.
The first picture shows the main fuse box above the black aux fuse box, the second shows the white main fuse box, the third shows that it can be un mounted by sliding it up, off the frame and then accessed without messing with the fuel tank.
