I was filling up, when I caught this gem of a car pulling in, so I scooted on over and got a picture next to it. Sorry for the quality, I was trying to hurry before the owner got back. 
thanks... i think he's the guy that fell later that pm... broken right mirror, fairing, turn signal. dunno how much those repairs cost on a Ducati, but I imagine a lot. Little T is not for the faint of heart. I need to practice getting faster I think... >_<

My 6R and a buddies FZ1
I love the FZ1 with the full fairing kit. When they do a redesign of that bike I hope the pick one or the other, full fairing or naked. Or both even. But I'm not a huge fan of half fairing designs.
Both are equally great bikes, just diffferent.
R1 is a little faster because of lighter weight and a few more horsepower.
FZ1 is a little more comfortable because of ergonomics.
R1 handles quicker because of geometry but FZ1 is more stable, especially with wider bars.
For two up FZ1 is much better for passenger.
FZ1 is much better around town, R1 better in twisities.
The catch 22 is you put a good rider on a fz1 against a less exp rider on the r1 and now the fz1's stability can rock the r1 in the twistys
all comes down to the driver of the bike IMOKind of. That's what I would tell someone who was asking about the bike who doesn't really know much about them to help them understand what kind of bike it is. But technically no. It's an upright version of a 1000cc sportbike. If I'm not mistaken, they share very few parts. Kind of like our bike, it uses a detuned version of the older R1 engine. Different frame, different geometries, etc... Just like our bike is kind of like an upright version of an R6. We actually don't share really any parts, but it's a 600cc upright version of a sportbike.
