South of Abilene, Texas. We had a beautiful 70 degree day in January. I took the soft bags off now that I know they fit. I went solo this day and had to stop in the wind farm for a quick picture.

Go figure, we are snowed in today.

I always do Azusa to the top, then on the way down take a left on East Fork over to GMR- unless I'm short on time, upon which I just go back down SG Blvd...

That's correct. I know how as well as off road and dirt track. Majority doesn't and still tries to use cellphones. I was almost in multi accidents in Dallas, which was frozen over, on my way to Austin. All was due to people having no business on the road but think they have every right to put us all in jeopardy. It's a touchy subject and I am holding back greatly.

Here in Abilene it pretty much shut down the entire town. Even those of us who have lived up north try to stay in because a lot of the local folk scare us in the snow. Haha! No disrespect intended to the locals.

I decided to buy a high res copy of this image from Stretch (1904photography.com) simply because I can't get over how impressed I am with the shot. And not because of me or the bike, or anything like that. I just think this is a perfect example of his crazy skill. The composition of the shot, the use of color, light, and shadows, etc... All capturing the image just right and clear as can be. And trust me, I was not exactly cruising past when he took this shot. I mean I could seriously see this image being used by a magazine, a manufacturer in an advertisement, etc... I'm just lucky to have such great photographers up on the hills around here to take pics that not only look incredible, but that can really be used as a teaching tool. Those guys have helped me fine tune my techniques more than any other learning tool so far.

To me he's much more of an artist than the others. Here's what I mean. Look at the image above, then look at the image below. While the one by Rick Clemson is a great shot, it just lacks that vibrant color and use of light that Stretch is so good at using.

Also yesterday we did another fund raiser for my friend Xavier. X was injured in an accident in October. We're very lucky to still have him around. However, he's restrained to a wheelchair now. So we've been doing what we can to raise money to help him. The big one was selling 200, $100 raffle tickets for his 2009 Aprilia RSV4. (Obviously he was not on that bike when he crashed) We sold them all over the country and were able to raise $20,000 to help with the renovations that are going to be needed to make his home wheelchair accessible. Many of you on other forums may have seen the posting about it. I did not post on here as I wasn't sure if that would be allowed. We've done a few other things and this Saturday was the most recent. We put together a ride and raffle to help raise some more money. The ride took us to his rehab center where he was out waiting for us when we all rode up. I tell you, that was an emotional afternoon. The look on X's face when we all pulled up was great. We were able to raise another $1,500 yesterday for him. Here's some pics from the event.

The photo looks great Jon... That photographer probably spent some time editing the photos with Photoshop, and the Clemson guy did not... Good photographers will often fine tune the photos color hue, contrast etc. ^_^

Also great to hear about what u guys did for ur injured friend. Hope he adjusts ok... I'm sure if you asked the admins here they would let you post the info next time.
