So I'm sure it's been asked before, but I am curious as to what type of motorcycle pants some of you wear. I got Icon Overlord overpants and Bilt Iron Workers Kevlar jeans for Christmas. The jeans fit good and seem like a good buy, but the Overlord pants have major fitment issues. The armor is placed way too low even though the pants were the correct size and the pants are long as shit. I'm 5'10" and about 225 at the moment and decreasing by the day. Trying to get back to a solid 200 again. I have a decent build so I'm not really fat at 225. The Overlord pants fit fine in the waste and could be hemmed to fit, but not sure how to move the armor to the correct location. I like the jeans and they will be my daily commuters, but I'd like a pair of textile pants with CE armor as well. Not looking at spending $200+ for pants since I am not racing or going to the track. Don't and won't wear shorts to ride to work 20 miles one way. I wore regular jeans last year, but don't like the idea of a 70MPH low side on the highway in regular jeans. So I'd appreciate the vast knowledge and expertise of all you seasoned vets out there. Thanks in advance. :Sport:

I had issues w the Icon Overlord overpants myself.... I ended up getting the Brawnson style and love them.

Found them on Amazon. So how much better is fit and if you don't mind what size did you order in both (if you remember). I should just make a trip to revzilla since I live near philly. Like I said I'm 5'10 225 and normally wear 36/30 jeans (sometimes 32 depending on brand). I don't have really long legs for my height. The overlord pants were really far off in length even though they are 30 inch inseam supposedly. I'm not sending them back though since my wife or mother in law can modify them to work.
5'8" 200 lbs - joe rocket phoenix...38" waist 29" inseam.... I had to get the short version of the pants and they are still long..

I think they fit true to size..I wear 32/36 and ordered the 32 overpant. Fits perfect. The armor is better set and is easy to adjust.
The overlords, in same size, where to loose and very long. Tried next size down in OL's and couldn't button them they so tight/and still long in the leg
I looked into BiLT riding jeans and similar products. I have heard (no first hand experience) that going down in them, the things shred. Seems that way until you get to $300-ish riding jeans but I've gotten great textile pants in the $200 range, and I personally feel they are more comfortable.
The Fieldsheer Titanium Air Mesh were my absolute favorites, but they don't make them anymore and I gained weight, so they went to a friend of mine. They're on ebay and amazon sometimes, but 99% of the times it's women version. I have some TourMaster overpants I use most of the time. LOTS of armor and padding, super comfortable. Had some Rev'It ones I liked slightly less. In hot weather I use Scorpion Phoenix I got thrown in when I bought my FZ from the dealer. Just over $100 I think.... lots of mesh makes me question strength but seems good. Itchy when just wearing boxers. Boxers that everyone else can see cause of all the mesh, but when it's almost 100 degrees out, I don't care.

Has anyone tried the Ugly Bros pants? Not cheap, but since they are slimmer fit it seems the armor would stay in the right place.

Being that you are working on losing pounds,
I suggest you save your money, as you wont know exactly where/ how new pants will fit in 12months time.
You said your mother in law can hem your overlord pants?
If she can do that she can adjust the knee armour for you.
If the liner is removable you should be able to work with your MIL to adjust the armour.
A tip from myself having to do this to my street leathers.
1. Take out the armour pad.
2. Put on your pants and sit down, so your knees are in similar posture as when you ride.
3. Place the armour pad over your knee, ensure the fold wraps your knee. There should be some armour above your knee and over the tip of your shin.
4. Get 4 safety pins, insert them through your pants at the extents of the armour. Top, bottom & both sides.
5. Take your pants off, & turn them inside out.
6. Outline the armour, lined up with safety pins, with a marker or tailors chalk. Ensure the armour is inverted at this point.
7. Remove safety pins and liner from pants
8. Unpick the original armour pouch.
9. Pin the armour pouch in position and sew in new locations. Double seam at all points.

Thanks, not planning on buying any new pants right now. I actually really like the Bilt Ironworkers Kevlar Jeans. I want another pair of textile or textile overpants for warmer summer riding. My biggest concern is armor placement rather than fit. Having my carpal tunnel surgery in the next few weeks so I'll be down for almost 8 weeks. Gonna concentrate on workouts and continue my healthier eating and get my weight back down. Probably gonna wait till father's day for new pants. Just trying to get ideas.

I really like my Sliders Kevlar jeans. Lots of Kevlar and they're very comfortable. They're a slightly relaxed tending to baggy fit, but that's fine with me. And they're cut a bit longer so that when you're sitting on the bike they don't ride up higher than your boots. I haven't got the armor yet, but they have pockets for CE approved armor. And the price is very good too.

--I love these riding pants. Went out on a sunday for a short 40 mile ride and it was super comfortable. Just enough air comes through the stretchy black part to keep you cool but not frozen. The denim is super thick and the knee pads line up with my knees perfectly when riding. They have black ones too that I think I might pick up. Perfect for Texas riding.

They look nice. I already have kevlar jeans. I'm looking for textile pants or over pants. At that price though it may be worthwhile to have a couple pairs.

Love my x element leather race pants $99 and very comfortable with padding and knee armor ordered one size lger than I wear only complaint is that their slightly shorter than I like but tucked in my boots it doesn't matter. Been riding with for 2 yrs and satisfied.

I have the Dainese Drake Air textile that I bought at the Dainese store in Milan summer before last. While there on vacation I just had to check out that store. Very comfortable pants.

I had the ankle/ calf with zips areas 'taken in' about 3inches to fit better inside my boots
