Sad to say, I know this from experience.VA can get really nasty for 15+ over the posted, or anything over 80MPH (as do most states)....
my fear is not my life.... in a straight (when you'd be going that fast), you could jump a piece of wood and be ok, but get caught going those speeds... and it is possible to get a reckless, which means jail time, possible impound, lawyers, higher insurance, etc.. money talks....
15 over in VA is a reckless driving offense. And often 100 is the magic number, meaning you WILL get jail time if you are doing 100...in a car. Little known fact, most judges in VA have a lower standard for bikes, meaning they'll let you go a little faster before throwing the same book at you had you been doing that in a car.
But still, if you do get caught in triple digits and the judge decides you need to check in, you can expect the following:
Multiple day stay in your local county's finest.
Large fine, probably on the order of a $1,000.
Suspension of license, something on the order of 6 months.
Probationary license period; when you get your license back, for the next 6 months if you get any tickets it's right back to the clink to serve whatever portion of your jail time the judge had suspended initially.
Virginia laws are usually awesome, but they have a major stick up their ass when it comes to speeding. Believe me.
It's almost better to get busted for a DUI than reckless driving in this state.
