Batteries!!!!!!!!

So, I pulled the battery out of my bike today at my shop to throw on the trickle charger and I was surprised to find that my battery, after 4 long years, is still functioning like it was brand new! WOW! It's the stock battery that came with my bike. I started my bike up once this winter and let it run for about 15 minutes. That's all the action my bike has seen all winter and the battery is still in fantastic shape!!!!!!!!! It's a YUASA and yes, I would recommend a YUASA battery to ANYBODY! These batteries rock! Although, I am planning on purchasing the Lithium Ion battery when this one finally goes.

we use YUASA at work... our equipment is all over the world and rated for industrial temps... proven technology for sure.

During the winter it gets done in the single digits or negatives... Lately it's been in the high 30's to mid 50's during the day and a lot cooler during the nights... All depends on the day..

Mines over 4 years old and starts right up every single time. Drops down in the low teens here during the winter, I just keep it on a battery tender all the time. Once it goes bad though, I'm going to pick up one of these bad boys:

you may want to rethink having a lithium battery in places that get cold during the winter. You can have some serious issues with drain and power retention.

I replaced my battery last month.

I have to qualify that the extreme heat of Arizona tends to shorten the life of all automotive battteries.

So all in all, I am impressed with the OE battery in the bike.

I love it works great i got the 8 cell which took off 7.7lbs on my bikes weight. i think the 4 cell would work fine on our bike if you really want to lose weight and here is my thread on WR REF:FZ6R Weight Reduction List

I got a good deal on an Alien Motion LiFe battery, so that's what I put in both my bikes. I did it for the weight savings as well as the easy of maintainence. No more battery tenders! :woot:

And I'm not worried about it having problems in the cold; my bikes are garage kept and I don't ride when it's below freezing typically. I wouldn't run these batteries in a snow mobile, but even in Alaska they're fine in a motorcycle.
