My stator failed at the beginning of December about a month ago on my 2015 FZ6R. I replaced it with an OEM unit and it began charging fine again. However, the stator failed again today.

My bike has about 14k miles at this point, stock, except for some LED running lights and an arrow aftermarket exhaust. I don't think OEM stators are meant to fail that quickly unless i got a faulty unit.

I rode my bike in some pretty heavy traffic yesterday and the temps were up to 200-215F for about 20 minutes. Have you guys heard off excessive engine running temps burning out stators? the fan kicked in a couple of times so i know it was 'managing' the temps somewhat but it was just running really hot yesterday.

When i took my bike into the shop the last time, they did a diode check on my rectifier and a load test on my battery and both were healthy according to the test. Any input would be welcome.

Engine heat is not your issue. 200-215 is not excessive - that's normal when you're in stop and go traffic.

that's good to know. I'm replacing the RR, stator and battery. so we'll see how it goes.

Have you experience the faulty RR even though it passes the diode continuity test?
