Well the Air Force is sending me to Korea for another year. (I was there for a year in 2001-2002)
I really don't like the idea of storing the bike for a year but I have the 6R built/modded EXACTLY how I like it. Do I keep it since it is built to my liking or just sell and get a new bike...
I've been planning this trip for 2 years. Thanks to my awesome wife for letting me do it. Taking 12 days total and riding 7-9 days depending on how I feel. Then meeting up with my family in Mississippi for 4 days. The bike is packed and ready for an early morning departure.
I was making a left turn doing maybe 10-15mph and the front tire hit something (gravel/oil) and the front end went out and I slid about 5 feet face first in the ground with the bike still between my legs. Funny...if the rear tire goes you usually see the rider and bike seperate, when the front...
Got in about 220 miles today, not bad for a Thursday. Hell, I could have been at work right? I've been meaning to ride to this lake for about 2 months but never had the time or the weather was bad...until today. The ride was beautiful but the lake, as you can see, was quite underwhelming. Gotta...
Then you gotta check these guys out. Tons of sport-touring info and the videos are amazing, especially when it's too cold out to ride. These guys have ridden all 50 states. I'm a bit jealous.

What sites would you stop and see? I don't mean what towns or cities. I mean sites in those towns. I'm going to hit the Jack Daniels distillery and the Barber Motorcycle Museum. Any other ideas?
:steve:
My 15 year old daughter asked to go for a ride today, that does not happen too often now days.
What a beautiful day on the road and at the lake. Thanks kiddo!!!
:D
Not to sound blasphemous, but if the Ninja 650 had all the 2012 upgrades last year, I would be riding one of them instead of a the Fizzer. It almost seems like they were building this bike with mid-size sport touring in mind.

..will the forum get when a lot of the members have winterized their bikes and are spending way too much time on the forum to make up for the lack of riding?
:scared:
Let me start by saying, I have the best wife ever. I had a 12 day trip planned for this summer to ride from Texas to Washington State and the deployment got in the way. So now that I'm home, the wife gave me 2 days to ride (I asked for 6...I'll take 2 and not complain). No need for the...
I got back from my deployment on Friday a full month early because we are moving to our next base in January, in Shreveport Louisiana. While I was gone I ordered a few things for the bike. Thanks to my loving wife they all sat awaiting my return in the garage. After a couple days of eating...
I saw this on another forum and I'm seriously considering it. He ordered an additional rear seat so he could permanently attach it and when he takes it off he puts the extra seat back on. (did that even make sense?) He says it works great. Since all my long trips are solo, I really like this...
Let me start by saying I love my Fizzer, no doubt. I bought it as a first sport-touring bike after years of riding cruisers. I had every intention of keeping it for 3-4 years and then moving up to an FJR...
However, after riding an FJR, I really like how small and nimble the 6R is and may...
Not looking for riding buddies...well not just yet. I have orders to move to Barksdale Air Force Base and was wondering if anyone has any neighborhood and/or high school recommendations?
Texas to Louisiana, the shortest move I've done in the Air Force.
:)
Feel free to post or PM me. I...
What's up y'all? I'm 2 months into this deployment and had a little down time to catch up on the forum (and Youtube gems as well). Just thought I would say hello and make sure everyone is getting some time away from the PC and on the road. I try to read as much as I can on the forum when I get...
Okay ya'll, I went on my first overnight trip on the Fizzer and I must say, I love that bike, just for the record.
I had a 5 day trip planned but life got in the way (deployment) so I planned a short 2 day out and back trip from Abilene to the Sam Houston National Forest. I didn't want to be...
I should have put this in the "local scene" forum but it appears to be pretty dead lately. Shoot me.
I'm going to ride from Abilene to the SH Forest next Monday and back to Abilene on Tuesday. Has anyone ridden through before? Hopefully with all the dry weather this year there will be some...
I so glad to see some life in the touring forum. I bought my FZ6R with the specific intent of building a low-cost, mid-size sport tourer. I've ridden and FJR and quite frankly didn't like the size. Plus I like that I can ride the 6R stripped down and she is still dead sexy! :D
The only real...
