Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

YES!!! Internet fight!!! If you kindly take the time to read further up the thread, I was referring to a sub-1000 sport touring bike. Thanks again for attempt #2 to correct me. :jerk: Are we both e-badasses now?

Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

Okay what I "should" have said...is Honda does not import the VFR800 to the United States anymore and we were never discussing the VFR1200. Geez. :spank:

Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

I've considered getting an FZ8 and adding all the touring accessories to include plastics. I also like the V-strom 1K, so ugly, but I like it. The Streetfighter is pretty sexy. I think the 750-900cc range is just about perfect for sport-touring.

Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

You gotta respect a man who knows his limits. That is the exact reason I was bent on building a sub-1K cc sport touring bike. Hell I can get in plenty of trouble on my 6R. After my last road trip I'm convinced I'll keep the 6R for a very long time. The only reason I could see getting something...

Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

Yeah, I gotta read more before I post. :o I too was planning on buying the VFR but they quit making them and I really wanted a new bike...then came the 6R. I've not regretted it once, but I only ride solo.

Sport Touring suggestions for 2-up riding

Not to blaspheme on a Yamaha forum, but the VFR800 is a great sport-touring bike, in my opinion. Go read some of the reviews at Sport-touring.net. Good stuff. Great for one or two-up and will run forever if you take care of it.

Think I have to sell my bike....

Bro, there is nothing wrong with selling the bike to help the family out. I took 6 years off from riding for the same reason. Sold my bike when I was 22 so my wife could finish school and then we had our daughter. I was 28 when I finally got back into riding. Of course I missed it, but it's what...

    Lowered her a bit

Great idea and super easy, especially if you have a center stand installed. Took about 10 minutes. Something about the 6R always looked "different" in the front and now it looks perfect. Even when I was looking at them online before I bought it almost 2 years ago, I told my wife the front end...

Going overseas for a year...sell or keep the bike?

I was at Kunsan last time, going to Osan this time. I heard they got rid of all the Juicy Girls in 2005...whatever will I do with my free time/money? :D

Going overseas for a year...sell or keep the bike?

Depends on the company. State Farm has lower rates for a bigger bike. I remember years ago being pissed that my rates went up when I sold my Shadow 1300 and bought a Vuclan 900. Thier logic is that a larger, heavier bike, with more power, is safer. I'm not too worried about the insurance to be...

Going overseas for a year...sell or keep the bike?

I had been riding for 10 years, all on cruisers, before my 6R. I bought it as an entry-level sport-touring bike with every intention of moving up to an FJR or Concours after a year or two. However, now that I have done some serious touring on it, it fits my needs perfectly. I have also ridden an...

Going overseas for a year...sell or keep the bike?

Well the Air Force is sending me to Korea for another year. (I was there for a year in 2001-2002) I really don't like the idea of storing the bike for a year but I have the 6R built/modded EXACTLY how I like it. Do I keep it since it is built to my liking or just sell and get a new bike...
