I used this app for a while to track my bicycle rides before apps like Runkeeper and MapMyRide got popular. My Tracks seems to be the best at gathering useful data, but it just isn't as easy to use on the fitness side of things as these others.

Make sure you're fully releasing the shift lever after you shift to second. I found this was the only issue I ever had when working between gears. It's easy for boots to hold the lever up slightly even though you think you've finished the shift.
I've got one of these. Seriously is like wearing no jacket at speed and not bad while sitting either. I think the armour is actually better than the A* touring jacket I have.
