soften up the rear a bit then give a go

More spring pre load on the rear is making it take more of the weight. Not enough is transferring to the front.

Before you change anything, go out and do some monster wheelies. :mikebike:

^ ditto what Bmw said. GPR steering dampened might help too. But seems like weight distribution is the core issue

Did a bit of reading on head shake and it sounds like it might be one of three problems:

1) Wheel/tire out of balance or worn.

2) Not enough trail, or steering is too twitchy (so that would go opposite of what some of the suggestions in this thread are saying. Try softening your rear shock to decrease steering angle).

3) Head bearing problems.

Shucking the Shakes

I have hard bags on my bike and have never experienced head shake on decel. Lots of head shake when accelerating hard, though.

Good luck with the diagnosis!

I've noticed this issue with the bags on as well. It is really only an issue for me if I take my hands off the bars and if there's significant wind. I do wish there was a better way to shift some of that weight forward. The front end definitely feels lighter than it should with my wife and the full luggage on.
