Ive never shot.it and have only heard not so great things about it. Not as pliable as brass and has issues with ejection I guess. Might be worth throwin a few rounds down the barrel and see how it does.

I reloaded rifle rounds for years, but it wasn't cost effective to reload pistol rounds. With a semi you go though rounds so fast and the casings get stressed quicker. I would reload six gun rounds, but not semi rounds. I know some that do, just not worth it unless I was shooting competition and wanted special loads.
I actually went to a local shop who specializes in supplying reloaders. He basically said the same thing. I told him that lately I've been buying 9mm from Freedom Munitions 1000 rounds at a time when they have free shipping deals going on for about $.19 a round. (No CA sales tax, and free shipping is awesome!) He said "if you're just going to do 9mm for now, just stick with that. It'll take you 35000 rounds or more to pay for a decent press and set of dies and break even before you start to save any money. Maybe a penny per round at the most."

On another note, I CAN WAIT for tomorrow. Crossroads Of The West Gun Show is tomorrow at Del Mar. Hopefully they'll actually have some .22 again like last time for a "decent" price. If anyone has 9mm for the same price I can get from Freedom I'll pick that up. There's a handful of other things I want to check out and pick up. I really want to get my hands on and get a bit of a feel for some of the smaller cary pistols out there. I'm still going to try and get a California CCW. Plus I just love walking around the show and checking out all the cool stuff.

One of the things I want to pick up there for my wife is a decent pepper spray. Might get myself one too since getting a CCW in San Diego County is still proving to pretty much take an act of congress even though their practices have been ruled unconstitutional. :jerk:
the only time reloading is really worth is if you are reloading for rifle rounds. I have a friend that has a reloading setup and I have used his setup for my pistol rounds as well but it's still only marginally better than buying rounds.

I do save a lot though on rifle rounds when I reload though, also shotgun shells are good for reloading as well. I can normally cut the costs in half and get some nice custom loads for hunting.

Here in canada things are very hit or miss. At one point 9mm was dirt cheap, then there was some stupid cheap 45... then some .223 went cheap. Now nothing is really "cheap" but some things are just plain expensive.

I reload 357 magnum for this reason alone. In the case of this caliber it IS cheaper to reload but for 9mm or 45, I tried it and by the time I bought all the stuff and factored in how much time it took to re-load 1000 rounds... it would have been better to just buy it.

Ive got a Ruger SR9... which I would carry if it were legal here. A jericho 941 in 45 and an S&W TR-R8 357 magnum.
For rifles I have a Savage 10PC, Savage 64TR-SR, Savage MKII TR-SR, Benelli Supernova Tactical, Daniel Defence M4V5 with a 10.5 inch barrel and an Adams Arms piston kit, A norinco T97 and a Norinco outlaw 12 inch double barrel SXS in 12 gauge.

when it comes to ARs you can pretty much do whatever you want, they are great rifles or pistols, depending on how you build them.

IMO I like to build my own ARs, it makes me appreciate them more. They are crazy easy to build and all you really have to do is just buy a part here another one there and eventually you will have all the parts you need to have a completed rifle. Then you have a working rifle with only the parts you wanted and nothing wasted on eventual upgrades. unless you change your mind about a part you bought in the process of your build.

I say every rifle should have a scope of some kind or another. There are so many easy options out there that a scope of some kind is almost too cheap to put on the rifle. It doesn't have to be anything but a fixed power scope that say is a 4x magnification. That's what I tend to prefer to have on my ARs is something in that range.

I also use diamond head sites, they are awesome sites to have on any picatinny rail setup. I would certainly get a set of their all metal iron sites before a scope for your AR and set it up so that you can co witness through whatever scope you end up putting on the rifle.

But if you like to shoot distance. get a bolt action, they are cheap, they work and they will be more accurate at distance than the AR platform. Hell you can easily get a remington 770 for 250-300 bucks in just about any caliber. great affordable rifles right there.

I personally like to shoot distance and when I do I like to shoot 400+. Though I think everyone should have an AR platform of some kind or another.

A great brand of american made ARs is CORE Rifle Systems, they have everything from basic on up. Depending on what you want to get. You can get into them for right around 500 bucks and they will ship right to your local FFL (gun shop). Done and done....
