What did you do to your bike today?

I commuted to work on the new steed for the first time. A little different feel than behind the full windshield I had on my Harley. It was breezier, and quite a bit cooler.

I rode my girl in to work today, she's still pretty dirty, gotta clean her up.
 
My poor baby! She's getting all wet. :(

Don't be afraid to open it up. After the first 200 miles you're good to go. You want the rings to seat at all RPM's. Short bursts up to 10k will help that process.

I've heard that. It may sound strange but I'm still getting used to something that revs like this. It is my first bike but man it sounds like its working really hard after 7 grand. Lol! New owner jitters.

I'm right with you. By the time I get home tonight, I'll have 210 miles on it, and I'm still weirded out by the 6k revs. Definitely an adjustment.

put a marthy exhaust and a pcv and bop on it and it won't sound that way anymore...
 
it definitely seams that way... but trust me you don't have to baby this baby she can handle it. ive been riding her full woot for a while now only inspirers confidence and trust that for sure

I disagree, respectfully, with JT here. Follow the manufactorers break in period recommendations. Many "she can handle it", but do you really want to find out you have the one that doesnt? Even if it's covered under warranty, do you really need the hassle? I sure don't.

Car mentality. At 6-7k, in most cars, you need to shift. On a bike it's just getting in to it's power band. Once you do some 8-12k pulls you'll be yearning for the chances to open that power up. :D
 
just put a steering damper or stabilizer, whatever you like to call it, on my thrux

You're spot on about the "car mentality", and I suspect you're right about hitting 8k. I know when I got my dad's car at 8k, the baffles opened up and the thing absolutely came alive. Italian enginereing will do that to you.:)
