I was late to the game and called Tyler to get in on the group buy this morning, before Marthy posted the disappointing update. Tyler seemed like an upstanding guy, and was genuinely sorry about the issue, though it does not seem to be his fault.
Personally, I am in need and the Group Buy is still a good deal. I've never messed with the drive ratio on my bikes and I've a couple questions that maybe someone can answer for me:
Assuming one opts for the 17/47 how much change in the speedo are we talking? Closer to true, or farther from true? It took quite a while for me to get my mental map down of what my speedo is reading and what I'm probably actually running, without having to do the math in my head.
Secondly does anyone have a feel for how much torque loss I'd be looking at? Is it a lot, so that I'd feel like she was dragging when I took off from a stop? Or do you think it'd be basically unnoticeable? I know that's subjective, but I was wondering if anyone with experience changing the drive ratio had an opinion on it.
