The link just goes to a paypay account. I don't see where you can choose what color you like. Is there a specific website that sells these?

It lights up whatever color you pick for it to show.
Yeah I see that now after finding their website. I still don't see where it says on their manual where it will fit a FZ6R. It say an 09-10 XJ6 so I guess it will work. I want one but it looks like a pain in the ars to hook it up.

Splice a couple of wires man. Pretty easy.

Well I just bought one of these. Depending on how complicated it looks, I might just have somebody else install it. I'll throw some pics up if and when it gets done

If you really wanna go above and beyond, you could do a step by step How-To complete with pictures. :D
As I've told my Supervisor at work many times......."I don't go above and beyond".

I'm going to take a look at the installation process and If I think I can figure it out I'll TRY and take some pics and do a short write up, but I can't promise anything being that my mechanical / electrical skills are that of an 8 year old retarded boy. To be continued....

The most important thing i'm curious about is if the instructions to install it specifically for the FZ6R are included with the gear indicator like SlowBoyRacing had mentioned in a previous post. Can you let us know if those instructions are included when you receive it?
Maybe take a picture of everything included in the package when you receive it.
Also, did you order via the link in the first post of this thread?

Let us know! Thanks

Yeah I ordered from the link on this page which I'm a little worried about since it goes straight to a paypal account. Ill take pics if and when I get everything.

So I got this Gear Indicator in the mail today. Took about a week delivery coming from Canada. Below is the picture of what all comes with it. As you can see the instrutions don't exactly say that this will work with our bike. The guy put a red arrow next to the FZ6 so I guess he thinks that is the same bike as ours. However it does say it will work with the XJ6 so hopefully the wiring is the same on our bike. The screen is very small on the indicator. Much smaller than what it looks like in the picture. Other than that, I'll hold off judgement until I get it hooked up. Looks like its going to be a pain in the ars though. Wish me luck. I'll post more pics when finished

A poster on the first page has this gear indicator and said that it can't be read in direct sunlight. I'm leaning more towards the gearTronic based on reviews and such. But I just can't seem to find anyone who's actually installed one on their FZ6R.
I have the red one and its fine in the sunlight.

I don't think there is anything plug and play with it. I mean it's not like there are connectors on the wires that just plug into the ECU. And from reading the instuctions, there is more to it than just splicing 2 wires.

This is well above my skills.....I just called me dealership and I'm going to have him put it in.

I believe there are much easier ones to intall, with just two wires or a plug, just don't know how or where to get one like that.
There probably are but I liked the fact this one has an orange display that matches the orange display we already have. I don't know, maybe if you are good with wiring and know what you are doing this would be easy, but I don't even know where the ECU is so I'm not going to mess with it. I got the dealer doing it on the 18th. It is what it is.

Well i took this POS to the dealer today to have it installed. After about 7 hours they gave up. The bottom line is they couldnt get it to program right. Take my advice and don't purchase this product. Now i have to contact this seller and probably fight with PayPal to get my $100 back. Let's see how well that goes.

This is a common reminerd of why some "universal" products and such pain in the ass. "On a suzuki you cut the red wire and put that wire there. On yamaha you cute the green wire but u put the other wire there" yup not very user friendly. But the gear indicator does look BA

Well as suspected, this vendor refuses to refund my money on this product that doesn't work. He basically ripped me off. The gear indicator isn't even for the FZ6R. Nowhere in the instructions does it say it's for our bike. Now I'm left filling a claim with PayPal and my Credit Card and I'm going to see what other legal ways I can go after this guy. This guy wants a war so I'm going to give him one. I suggest the mods who run this site take him down for the vendors list and advice those who manage the sister sites to take him down too. I'm on a few other bike forums and I'm going to blow him up on there too. Again, do not buy anthing from this vendor!!!!
