Wish I had my cam on earlier, a semi took a left hand turn and came within inches of my friend on her daytona, even with her trying to get out of the way. We both nearly followed it, called the number on driving and contacted the police, decided to just give her the bird though and go cool off somewhere else when we know she realized she was that close to us...

Everyone definitely should have a camera on while they ride. Not only to record your riding but to save your butt, if the moment happens. I bought the GoPro Hero 2 about 5 months ago and I couldn't be happier. I use it every time I ride just incase something does happen. Then when I'm not riding I use it for so much more. Hiking and camping trips, swimming, in my car, zip-lining, and other vacation trips. It is definitely money well spent. :D

Yup, I LOVE my GoPro HD. Use it on the bike, fishing, hiking, sledding, etc. Tons of things you can use it for. Takes awesome pics too. Love it.

where do you guys mount the camera when you are riding?

Suction cup to the side of the fairing, or hard mounted to swingarm or helmet.

I've got the Hero HD mounted on a RAM U-Bolt on the handlebars... Used to put it suctioned to the tank, but, much less vibration on the handlebars, I'm finding (and leaves the tank free for a tank bag, or whatnot).

I just pulled the trigger on another cam for my helmet (the Hero is out of the question, since it's got the aerodynamic profile of a brick). So, I checked around, did a little due diligence, and decided on the Drift HD. Has a great profile for the helmet; rotatable lens; can use an external mike if you want to v-log; has a very intuitive LCD screen menu *plus* an included remote control; and best of all, I found it at Crutchfield for $239, OTD (it's $299 everywhere else -- and it won't last -- already low stock).
