:D

Picked this up last week! It is a Valco Aluminum 13' boat. Came with trailer, 30# thrust Minn Kota trolling motor, pole holders, cup holders, battery box and battery, Fish/Depth finder, anchor, (2) swivel seats and I think thats it!

Paid $575 for everything! Thought that was a great deal. Took it out this last Saturday with my dad and had a blast! Doesnt leak a drop of water. Very stable fun boat. I bought some jackets, ores, and a battery charger for it. The trolling motor took us all around the lake all day long without any problems.

I plan on re-painting the inside of the boat sometime soon. Thinking about getting a new 45 lb. Minn Kota to really push this thing. Or a smaller outboard gas.... maybe. Love boat fishing! No more shore walking :D Super stoked!

Pictures!

Excellent budget fisher. Now you can go where the 20K Champions go...LOL
Get a 15hp motor for it and have fun.

Way better than the raft you had here! Oh why couldn't you have that here for Lake Frederick!

Very cool!

:D I know, we could have had a blast in that lake on this thing! Way better than an inflatable. And the seats rock! Love having a back rest. When we rented the jon boats at Frederick my back was killing me sitting on the flat benches. This had everything already set up. The little cup holders are sweet too haha

It just floats behind the truck too. The trailer is nice and smooth.

u obviously didn't watch, Piranha... j/k

nice! congrats :)

Nice 13'er you got there! I want one too! I've heard of stories of people modding the center bench seat to accommodate a live well.

LOL a busa motor would be SWEEET! :p

Its great! Super light, trolling motor will take you around all day. Going to get an extra battery for full thrust all day long!

The center bench live-well would be sweet! Right now im just using a smaller cooler. Not a true live-well, but it keeps em alive.

Going out to a different lake this weekend. Central Oregon rocks! There are like 6-7 different lakes within an hour or a hair more :D. Then all the rivers, streams, etc. If you love the outdoors, this is the place to be, haha. Love it here.

Keeps the beer alive, right?!? :iconbeer:

$575! Great find!

How much does it all weigh then, speaking of weight--for the boat, trailer, and ancillaries??

I am not sure of TOTAL weight, but we can lift the boat by ourselves if we had too, and its all under weight for DMV so the trailer does not even have to be registered or tagged. (so the total weight for not having to register your trailer, with everything on the trailer is 1,800 pounds). We are for sure under that. I would say we are under maybe around 500-600 lbs? Boat cant weigh more than 200 lbs, and the trailer is maybe 300-400? Just guessing. Battery is 50 lb, trolling motor is maybe 15 lbs. I can lift the tongue and move the trailer and boat all around and pull it up a sloped driveway myself.

The guy that had it, towed it with a little 4 cyl. Mazda.

Been busy working on the boat when I've had a chance...

This is what I was starting with!

Then I sanded all I could down, focusing on the rivets and seams. I used a product called Gluvit to seal all rivets and seams. Great stuff! Expensive but its the way to go if ya wanna seal an aluminum boat.

After that was done, I hit all bare metal with Zinc Chromate primer after I washed the boat out with detergent and then a vinegar bath to prep the aluminum.

Here it is with the next primer shot (Rustoleum).

And here she is with one coat of Marine topside paint (Rustoleum).

Think its much better than before! And its leak free. Didnt lead before, but now I know its truly sealed for years to come. I will hit it with another coat of topside paint this next weekend which will make it look really nice.

Congrats Jay!
Might be time to step up again - I'll bet it's light enough to tow w/ an fz1....
