Quick vid of my boat/outboard

Got this 5 HP Mercury not too long ago. I used to just use the trolling motor and it just was not gonna work haha. This little guy moves the boat nicely. Froze our asses off today and got skunked but was still nice to get on the water.

This thing SIPS the gas. 3 gallons will last me forever. Definitely not a speed boat though Still good fun catching fish with family and friends. Kokanee and trout... MMmmmm

Trolling only, over large water does suck.

That 5 hp Merc is awsome. How many hours can you get out of 3 gallons?

I have a 20 year old Johnson 9.9 sail master (25" shaft, digs real deep) for my 16ft aluminum john boat.

I've had the whole boat out of the water going over 2ft wakes on lake Lanier.

I'm an idiot...but damn its alot of fun. Word of advise...tie down your cooler of beer (and every thing else) before doing that. Lesson learned.

Not sure how many hours (no meter on it). We got it middle of last summer and I just today filled the tank back up. I troll on the minkota a lot though.

Hell Yeh! I vote nothern pike or fly fishing for tarpin in FLA.

What I really want to do is go to Venezuela and fly fish for some of those 20+lb peacock bass. I just don't have the $7,000 to do it.

Imagine a 15 hp on that aluminum boat....You would have to put rail mounted water diverters on the front to keep the water out of the boat...I know because I had to....LOL

If I put a 15hp on my aluminum john, it might bend up the transom. Its not of heavy gauge construction. The 9.9 is more than enough for it.

Jay's boat looks like it could take at least a 25 hp with no problem.

That motor is perfect, never judge how many fish you can catch by how fast your boat can go! I know a guy who fishes anywhere from 100-300 yards away from his camp and he limits out every time, and all he has is an old beat up flat boat with a 15hp. 99% of the time he leaves his camp later than everyone else and is back with his limit before anyone else. To tell you the truth my best boat I ever had I didn't even have a trailer for and I had a 1978 Johnson that ran like a top I would clamp it on the back of my old 12' flat and could practically go anywhere. Anyways I think you got a nice set up with your boat there J, thats all you need anyway if you really want to go fast just hop on your R6 and go!!!
