Hardest part is latching the spring.[/QUOTE said:Found that attaching the spring to both ends and then moving the stand up to where it mounts is easier than trying to attach the spring afterwards.
In the same boat... Probably just going to get the SW Motech stand instead. Reviews seem good.So I went to my local dealer and they couldn't help or were just too lazy or unresourseful to find out how to get it.
Anyone out there have any ideas how to get this part in the lower 48
So is there no way to get this stand in the states?
Yam Can lists the part number as MAI-NSTAN-DK-IT for $150.17. I'm guessing thats Canadian dollars.
Couldn't find it else where.
Can our friends to the north buy it and ship it to us? Don't want them to get into any kind of trouble. Hate to see someone go to jail for starting an international centerstand smuggling ring or the like.
Do we need to go to our local dealer only to hear them say "sorry, no can do"?
Why wouldn't Yamaha offer it in the states? We have money to spend.
Need some closure over here. Feeling all anxious and what not...

Another question too...Will it fit the 6Rs in the states? Are the canadian bikes set up differently...frame wise I mean?
Just looking for some help here.Yeh the Motech stand is fine and all but I just wanted to get my hands on the OEM stand.
Can't understand why they don't offer it in the states.
Which brings back the question, are the frames for the 6Rs in the states different from the Canada bikes? Or is Yamaha just screwing with us?
Best guess, It adds more weight and they would have to charge more for the bike. Neither one being a very good excuse. It would have nice to have the option at the dealer when buying the bike. I put the SWMotech on mine.Does anyone know why Yamaha does not supply it on new bikes?
Do you keep the side stand or you take if off? If you keep it. Why?It's difficult to tip it over, therefore you can leave the bike parked with more confidence. ( soft asphalt, curiosity seekers, small children, wind, etc… ) It also makes access to parts of the motorcycle easier and safer. I wouldn't own a bike without one. I ordered mine from Twisted Throttle.
Sorry to be a pain, just trying to measure if it's worth it or not.
Sorry about Jay, he's usually much more helpful. Thank you for not creating a new thread! :thumbup:Do you keep the side stand or you take if off? If you keep it. Why?
