Where exactly does it touch the oil pan?http://www.600cc.org/forum/f89/modified-06-r6-exhaust-09-6r-19670/
Page 3 I asked the same question and again no solid answer except no one has tried it yet. Looks shape wise similar. I think the section under the oil pan needs extending about 1-1/2" then it should clear that as is the same problem we have with the 99-05 headers. I could have gotten one for $55 shipped but I didn't have the money for it. Also the exhaust outlet may need angled differently to insure a slip on fits well with the bike. Other than that I think it would work but definitely not with out altering.
With this question please don't chime in with 99-05 headers blah blah blah... that is not the question.. completely different unit is in question here :admin::rof:
We need some sucker to take the fall for this one and give it a try! I took my "fall" with the royal purple max cycle. Too expensive! It works well though!
Look at the link I posted on page three. You'll see two links to U-Tube videos. The first few seconds pause it. You can see where the exhausts, factory, slope down then back up to clear the oil pans. That is where I say it would have to be extended 1-1/2" as our oil pan rolls straight back as the back of the R6 ridges up and is not as long.Where exactly does it touch the oil pan?
I ain't gonna say a word....(other than what I just said)Years 99 - 05 R6 will fit, will require bending of the headers a little because they hit the oil pan underneath a little.
Hard part is finding how you're going to mount it. A new wave has emerged where people got the GYTR exhaust and it fits perfectly.
Now run before Roaddawg comes.
Thanks, I will look at it. I'm not really into pipe bending... I cut mine right where the 4 primary join into 2. I got myself a piece of stainless steel U bend and a 2 to 1 stainless steel collector and a O2 sensor plug to weld on it. Just want to do it right. I might get a PC with Auto tune, not sure yet but it will be there if I need it. Just looked at it and decided it won't be that much more work to redo the end of it and put a slip on exactly where I want then heat and bend. That's why I was asking where it touch. I should be ok ($) to order my slip on within a week or two then I will get on the R6 headers program! Just got done with my windscreen project this week, I wanted to finish that one first. Not crazy about 2-3 project at the same time. I can't wait to get it all done.Look at the link I posted on page three. You'll see two links to U-Tube videos. The first few seconds pause it. As for your question I believe others have stated that the 99-05 pipe touches the bottom of the oil pan? That would account for why people are bending the pipe to clear.
I hope that helps.
