What did you do to your bike today?

Broke in my new tires. So I'd ordered the Q3's. Front came in. 160 rear was back ordered. Then back ordered again. Parts Unlimited (where my buddy who owns Full Throttle gets his tires from) are now saying last week of August, or first of September. I was at the wear bars on my Q2's on the bike. So I told him to just put a Q2 on the rear with the Q3 front. I normally would never mix front and rear tires. I don't even like changing just a rear and having a used front. But with there being no difference in the profile of the Q3 vs. Q2, I don't think there'll be any issues. I did notice that the front, just like the Q2's always have been, was pretty much broken in and ready to go after about 40 miles. Seems like the Q2's and now Q3's it's more a matter of getting the new tire up to temp than getting them scrubbed in before you get grip. And they got up to temp rather quickly for the street. I did have good front end feel and a lot of confidence in the front quickly with the Q3. More than a Q2? :don'tknow: maybe. But I loved Q2's so it's going to be hard to top them in my book. Supposedly the difference between the Q2 and Q3 is more noticeable on the rear tire so I may have to wait until it's time again for tires and get a full set of Q3's before I really notice much difference. I only did about 160 miles today but I got some good lean angle into them, and broken in nicely.

I've heard alot of positive feedback about the Q3s. With them offering a $40 rebate on a set through the end of the month, I may have to grab a set.
I thought they had a good buzz going already, but I guess they wanted to get alot more people to try them out.

What kind of wear did you get out of the q2's? I know the 3's are supposed to be similar and would like a nice upgrade when I change my tires. When I do commute it's a 40 mile round-trip and some weekend riding other wise. Rain has kept me from commuting most of this summer (most rain I've ever seen in summer). Thanks.

Washed the bike up real good and applied the Motul Clear Coat Shine & Go.
Then brought her to my regular dealer and they offered me $300 more than the 1st place I went to. Went back to the place that has the 2011 Ninja 1k that I am contemplating and they said they would match that, so now I could get $3800 for my bike and get the Ninja OTD for $3420 after trade....

About 3500 miles of hard canyons. Theyre really not good commuting. They talk about the center being harder for longer wear. But if you have long amounts of slab riding, might flatten the middle a bit prematurely. I have a 56 mile round trip commute and i did it hree or four times at the end of their life and the center flattened quick.

Cleaned and lubed my chain yesterday. Felt good.
If I was in need I'd help you out, but don't need tires right now. I'll keep those in mind though.

I may need a front tire soon. I guess buying the set wouldn't hurt how much are you thinking for each individually or for both
