Throttle sticking.

I just recently started my bike due to the cold weather and my throttle is sticking to where in don't have to touch it to let the clutch out. The rear tire just starts spinning. Any ideas??

It's normal for tire to spin a lil even in neutral. Is it spinning fast? Maybe your clutch cable is too tight and not full disengaging the gear.

Yeah could be just a simple adjustment on the clutch cable. its really easy give it a shot.

idle 1300 rpm, if it's there, it's not the throttle sticking... if it's idling higher,

-check for kinks/adjust slack in cable

-lube throttle cable! if it's been sitting, a quick lube and working it will free it up (I like dri-slide, but any oil will do, just hard to get it into the tube)

if its in neutral, the clutch wont be the problem since whether you have it engaged or disengaged is pointless. Its just the oil that is between the input gear and one of the outputs is allowing the tiniest amount of power through. Nothing to worry about. Btw the throttle needs to be open just a small bit, otherwise the motor would starve for air and not idle.

True if in neutral. If he's in 1st with the clutch pulled in and the bike still moves he's over/undertightened the cable. The first year I had my bike I took all the slack out of my clutch cable. Dumb move. When I pulled the clutch in the gear was still engaged and would roll a little bit unless I held the brake. LOL

It's when I put the bike in gear and let off the clutch. I don't have to give the bike throttle because it s stuck at a high idle. So letting off the clutch and going into first is when the tire starts spinning, Moving the bike forward

It's normal for the bike to move in gear without giving any throttle. In msf that's how they start you out. They make you keep your feet down and only use clutch to cross the lot a few times to get used to clutch. Unless your rpms are off the charts high this is completely normal.

OP, nobody here can offer much assistance until it is determined if the idle is actually too high. What RPM is the bike idling at?

Secondly, it may not be a sticking throttle, it could just need a quick adjustment of the idle screw. Does the throttle snap closed when you let go of it? Regardless of idle speed, does it go back to the same idle speed every time you let go of the throttle? Without this info, this will be impossible to diagnose.

mine did that too when turning the steering full lock and flicking the throutle if it was all the way left the idel wouldnt drop all the way down so i just gave the cable a little bit more free play at the butterfly plate area now works fine
